Had an X-ray today after injuring my ankle at the weekend! All staff were really nice only waited over an hour, that was everything from seeing the nurse, having X-ray and getting my results! After reading the reviews I thought I was going to have a nightmare! But it all went smoothly! Thanks NHS!
Nurse and receptions staffs are very rude. I am visiting here continuously last 3 weeks for my child. They given a wrong medicine, treated wrong and not find my child details when I visit them next time. I was waiting 6 hours last Sunday a nurse seen my child and telling to my child ‘ do quickly we need to go home’ We were the last when they seen us and ignoring her issues. My child only 4 years old and nurse asked her so many questions sWhen I asking her issues antibiotics reaction a nurse kee asking me what I think she needs I describe her all issues and they said I dont need to do anything even if getting worst go to the GP. When we were in the consultation room 3 ladies were there any of them did not listen properly why we went there. it was just very uncomfortable for me when I waited with child 6 hour they dont have emotion and value. That is very unprofession. They don’t have emotion and values. They are a key worker and working weekends we believe and respect them but it's not their right to behave and treat like this to anybody even when it's about children they should prior the problem. As they did not put attention and their negligence bring me here again. I feel it's not safe place for my child to bring next time. There behave like we love to go there nobody like to go weekend in walking without emergency.
I’m grateful for the nhs as a whole, but this service is absolutely shocking. I am always prepared to wait my turn as with everyone else. But when a nurse comes out and says hi to her friend and asks the child’s name then the next thing they are getting called in before a room full of people patiently waiting shows unprofessional service.
Had a 5 hour wait with my Mum who is 89, Sunday 28th January 2024, I think she has damaged her Hip but when we got in to see a Nurse she didn't listen to me when I was giving Mums history. Quite a big Bruise in her groin, Nurse put it down to her scratching it, the fact she is in agony when putting weight on the same Leg suggests something more.
Then found out they dont do X rays at weekends !!!!
So after all that time waiting we will have to see GP tomorrow to see if we can get an X-ray ......couldn't face visiting any of our A&Es tonight.
Triage efficient, but then we waited over 4 hours to see a Nurse to be told no X-ray facility, I am a Nurse myself so understand the complexities of care settings.
But feel this walk in is a waste of most People's time as not much treatment can be provided anyway.
Staff pleasant and efficient but sadly we wasted our time today x
I’ve always held this place in high regard hence the 3 stars, however had to go this past week due to injury to my head, back, next and chest. 111 Online suggested A+E but I didn’t want to waste any unnecessary resources so decided to downgrade myself, but wanted checking out for some assurance I didn’t have any bone injury as opposed to muscular/bruising. After explaining this to the nurse she asked “so…why are you here?”, compounding the sense I already felt I was wasting resources and her time. She barely looked at me, facing the computer while talking to me. This woman was like the human equivalent of an eye roll.
There was a second nurse shadowing her, and he gave such sympathetic smiles that I felt his eyes basically said “I know she’s being horrible but I can’t really say anything”.
I was waiting a long time but I don’t mind that for one second because I have so much respect for how overworked everyone is. On the whole I would speak really highly of this place, and I feel my assessment was appropriate. But the attitude with which I was treated was just so cold, and I can never understand that. Working in healthcare myself I fully understand the pressures we are under but if I ever lose empathy/warmth for the people I care for, then I think it’s time for some reflection.
I see several other reviews citing similar experiences of rude or abrupt staff which is concerning really, and such a shame.
The worst experience I have ever had.
The system is so bad. My son had a twisted ankle and had x ray after 3 hours . We were told that the x-ray would be reviewed by the specialist and would give us a call but unfortunately, we haven't received any reply and my son is wearing a boot ???? to support the ankle. We are calling everyday to know what x-ray included, what we shall do , will he keep the boots or not , will he move on his ankle or not. The staff seemed helpful and friendly but very bad system .
I appreciate everywhere is busy. But if you have to wait here for over 6 hours then at least you could have vending machines so patients don't pass out or go into diabetic comas. Reception told everyone they where 13th in the queue. Must be a popular number.
Had bloods taken today in/out within 15 mins the nurse who did the procedure was 1st class!!! A credit to the centre!
