The location is easy to find and the environment is bright. But the food was a little too greasy for my liking.
Everything really nice inside the fish and chip shop, lovely atmosphere, bit cold though.
I'm sorry for the poor review, but the food was too oily (a lot of oil collected into a puddle in the corner of the tray), and the large haddock was was very hard in some places and parts of the batter were also hard, so we couldn't eat all of the food. The chips and gravy were lovely, though.
Reason for 1 star on food and 2 star overall: too oily, half the fish was overcooked and too hard, and then we both felt sick for a while after eating. Other than that, lovely place and lovely staff.
Always a great place to eat, I take my aunt who is 94 and loves fish and chips, great service and always busy.
We ordered two small cod and chips and one chicken burger with small chips delicious food and good and quick service
A brilliant find, in a lovely little market town: sparkling welcome, sparklingly clean premises - modern but not overly so, and a wide ranging traditional fish and chip menu. The shop (take away or eat in) proudly boasts to using only locally grown potatoes, locally and recently landed fish -all from sustainable sources- and even home made tartare sauce. And from the taste, which was delicious, I would concur that these factors make it one of the best fish and chip shops around.
Very disappointed last visit so gave it another chance. Sorry to say no better. Chips cold and tasted of burnt oil. Fish rubbery over cooked and tasted like the chips. Sorry had to chuck them in the bin. Won't be going back.
Food is well cooked but portions are small, I couldn't tell the difference between the regular and large chips, surely an extra potato won't make much difference to the cost. Still hungry after the meal.
We've ordered food to go a handful of times here and it's always been great. Very good quality and decent wait times for service!
