We visit each time we are in the area.
The last time we came, they were filming so couldn’t get up close to the memorial however we didn’t have that issue today.
It’s breathtaking to read all the names and stories attached to the people.
Such a peaceful and tranquil place for a memorial to those who were murdered in the Pan-Am bombing in December 1988. Spend time reading the passengers names and those too who died on the ground. A peaceful place setup my tragic events.
We visited on our way home from Durness to Sheffield. We took a quite lengthy detour to visit the memorial and arrived as darkness was closing in. Such a serene and atmospheric place, a little spooky even but it's a must visit to pay respect to those whose lives were taken.
first time visiting, very touching and spent some time reading the plaques. it has been really nicely done.
Very good, well layed out area in remembrance of the Lockerbie disaster.
I don't think "loved it" is correct response for a garden of remembrance i respected it and what it stood for. The Garden of remembrance was very respectfully done for the victims of Pan am flight 103 as well as the others burried/scattered there.
It had a surreal feeling. Reading the names of the victims made the hairs on my arms and neck stand up. It filled me with sadness but it was a fitting tribute to those lives taken by terrorists.
Rest In Peace innocent people.
A lovely area which emphasises the scale of the Lockerbie air disaster without being over the top. Whilst Lockerbie suffered deaths on the ground and the eternal psychological effects this disaster will always be felt by those in the town, reading the names of the victims shows what a truly international disaster this was. If you are visiting the area you should visit this peaceful memorial, I sat silently on a bench there, so peaceful and tranquil with my thoughts focused on the victims and those left behind.
Have been meaning to visit this memorial for a long time and finally got the chance. It is an absolutely beautiful and moving monument to the victims of the air disaster. I wasn’t born when it happened, but it is nice to see the local council keep it maintained. Rest in peace to all that perished ❤️
