Beautiful park with nearby 1,000 year old oak just off the public area. You can see it from the footpath but its not easy to spot unless you know where it is. Lots of other fabulous huge chestnuts and other trees in the park.
A truly beautiful place for a walk and a real haven for tree lovers. Filled with ancient sweet chestnut, oak and beech you will come across a flock of sheep which adds to the experience. There is space to park near the gates of the old Fredville estate.
This is Kents best kept secret. I love this place. The majestic trees, especially the nonnington oak is worth seeing. The owner is very friendly, ask permission before walking around the estate it is privately owned. You don't get to see a tree of this beauty every day. Be prepared the old oak is a true wonder, also don't forget your camera.
Fredville Park has several specimen trees including the awesome, "Majesty", three other named oaks, several sweet chestnut, a yew tree and an amazing sequoia. As you enter the wooded garden a large Holm Oak, native to the Mediterranean, can be seen on your right. Please remember that Majesty is in someone's garden so please be respectful and ask for permission first . The owner is very friendly.
The Fredville Oak is on private land and permission to see it must be sought from the land owners no matter what you read else where. There is a Byway from the lower lodge to the top lodge that goes through the park where you can see other monumental trees
Sheep, sheep, and more sheep!!! Amongst the majestic old oak trees.
Lovely place to visit, so many beautify and unique trees. Groundsmen were very friendly and helpful in pointing me towards places of interest.
Free roaming sheep and pheasants on site also create a lovely, serene atmosphere.
Fredville Park is a beautiful place to walk through. The famous Fredville Oak, called Majesty, is magnificent but you must get the permission of the Game Keeper to visit it.
