I have been to the Fox inn several times now! From weddings, to Sunday lunch and night stays!
The recent Italian night was superb!
Perfectly cooked Italian food, great wines and attentive staff. They went above and beyond to make the venue have an Italian feel about it. The decor, ambiance and even having quality white table linen made it stand out!
The rooms were clean, modern and fresh, but I must say the linens were to a very high standard and smelt amazing.
Would recommend to anyone
Our son had his wedding there on the 19 of April it was absolutely fantastic day the staff couldn't do enough for youthe rooms where lovely and the food and hospitality were second to none we would highly recommend the fox to anyone for weddings or just a meal they made our son and daughter in laws day thank you.
Just been to this pub for a two course lunch with my husband and mother-in-law and had the worst meal we’ve had in a long time. The cream of vegetable soup was so salty and creamy it was barely edible. Then had the crab curry and was surprised to discover I was chewing on a whole crab shell!!! The whole baby crabs mixed in with the sickly tomato sauce (not curry sauce at all) was very unappetising especially as there was practically no meat at all on the crab. After having complained politely about the curry, we received no acknowledgement and then realised we’d been overcharged for the meal! (was supposed to be £17.95 for two courses and they charged us for the starter and main separately). Left feeling slightly sick. Definitely won’t be coming back.
6/3 update - it would be remiss to not update this review. The Fox Inn has cancelled the booking for the hunt fundraising event. The owners listened to feedback and made, in my view, the correct decision to disassociate from the hunt. There is no place in today's world for the barbaric act of hunting on horseback with hounds, under the guise of 'land management', more ethical methods are available and should be used. This 'sport' has had it's day.
Would not visit this pub, it is holding a 'ball' for fox/trail hunters - poor decision by management. Akin to hosting a meeting for C18 or EDL in my eyes. Very very poor decision and should rightly expect the public backlash. Fox hunting was banned decades ago and we all know that trail hunting is a smokescreen to allow this now illegal activity to continue.
A very busy Friday night when we visited the Fox. Excellent food and a good drinks selection, very attentive staff, and a good atmosphere.
Stopped for lunch
Batham's available, menu limited but my f&c were good. Would have liked a larger fish.
Went for the "buffet" that wasn't a buffet it was a choose your messily choice of starter, I mean main which was very salty and a pudding taster all served on paper plates, not a spot on last year, definitely a maccies run and after paying £40 (which I didn't expect a lot for but more than a child's portion) Entertainment was too much for the small room. Not sure we will return next year, also waited an age for the gluten free option which wasn't gluten free just here's the food you need to take off the nann bread ????
I would never eat, drink or stay in an establishment that supports Fox Hunting and the scum that participate in it, any way!
Disgusting!
I hope your profits drop when your customers realise what you are willing to do for money!
