I travel from the west end of Glasgow to visit this lovely cafe. A roll and bacon with egg and tea for less than a coffee in the west end. Easily the nicest and freshest roll I've had and almost too much bacon to finish.
A proper local old school unpretentious cafe with lovely staff.
Next time you're taking a trip out of town give it a visit. You won't be disappointed.
Don’t fall for the Google maps high rate. I asked for a cappuccino and I could not drink more than a small sip. It was horrible, never had such a bad coffee in the morning.
English breakfast quantity wise was great, but it was horrible in freshness and quality. See photo.
Lovely cafe… we wanted to go somewhere for brunch/lunch, Balloch have very few places for lunch, couple are very expensive, like £8-10 for sandwich, the rest don’t have anything I would like. That cafe is pretty outside with stained glass on the windows, basic inside but nice enough. Food was good for the value which was quite cheap. Range bagels, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, paninis, rolls and all day breakfast, some sweet treats too, coffee latte was good too. Highly recommend if you fancy supporting local businesses rather than expensive chain places
I moved away from the Vale many years ago. This café was and still is known amongst locals as Freddies Cafe. I used to go here from time to time with my mum and sister. I was visiting the Vale Cemetery with my wife and she said she would like to go for a coffee. I'm so glad we went in here, it's just as good now as it was in the 1970's when I was a kid. I'm looking forward to going back again.

Great local place for some decent food staff are friendly and welcoming disabled access and toilet there aswell, best all day breakfast in the shire absolutely brilliant, coffee was great aswell ,I highly recommend the fountain Cafe as a great place to eat ,eat local support local. Great value for money
This cafe is a well liked local cafe. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is warm and welcoming especially on a wet and windy day. The atmosphere can range from being quiet to very busy due to the nature of the business and time of day. It is a family run cafe and if you ask you will get tales and stories of long ago. It's a good place for a quick coffee or a lunch, there's always warm tea or coffee available.
Great wee local cafe. Fab prices and great atmosphere.
