Best KPortal Reviews
Fri 5/3/24
In i went to try out their lentil soup - most cafés have that on, & sadly i was the only customer in there. SO in you go & show your support.
I didn't expect the soup to be that great & i thought it would be watery & only warm, & that i would need to hand it back to get it heated up - BUT NO - it was spot on & as u can see the stream was rising from it & it was also nice & thick, so 10/10 & it only cost 3 quid.
Now if it's too thick for some folks i'm sure they will offer u a small jug of hot ???? water to thin it down a wee bit
I also noticed how spotless the cafe was & the seats were pretty comfy too but their coffee lattie ☕ was nothing to write home about & i will probably have a pot of T the next time i'm in & their breakfast too, which LOOKED very nice in the reviews.
I had a slice of their lemon topped cake which was ok, but very slightly a wee bit dry & the young waitress that served me was most pleasant.
So that's my truthful review.
Back in again as promised on Saturday 6/4/24. to try out a full breakfast.
A very pleasant curley haired guy called Peter brought my breakfast over & he told me that the plate is hot & it sure was & I told him so BUT he needs to learn the sign language ????
I was pleased that he told me the plate was hot & I also told him that's how food should be served up & it was the hottest ???????? plate that I've ever had my food served up on 10/10 for that. It would be a good idea if the manager bought some wee mats to sit the T pot on to stop heat dissipation. I called the young waitress over if I could get a wee drop of hot water in the T pot & she said it was no bother to do that - or words to that effect.
I woolfed down the whole meal & the very few thinly sliced mushrooms ???????????????? The b.p. [black pudding] was mainly all black ???? with no small white chunks of fat showing ???? but the haggis was a bit mushy. The egg???? wasn't even frizzled up as can happen in a few eateries.
Funny enough I quite enjoyed the nameless easy to pour thin tomato ???? sause & the rest of my late breakfast & as u can see, it wasn't far for me to walk to Food@34a.
Oh!! b4 I go, I read a review from someone that their T wasn't hot enough & mine was a wee bit the same & it would maybe a good idea to do what my granny used to say "warm the pot up" because it is a thick, kinafa crockery T pot.
Back again Thursday 11/4/24
Ordered my pot of T which was nice & hot this time, had their tomato ???? soup & it was nice & hot????as well but could have been a wee bit thicker, despite that, it was very good, even the soft brown bread that came with the soup was buttered right up to the edges. Some cafés have it only buttered in the centre & not spread all over.
The macaroni & cheese was piping ???????? & I thought by looking at the colour of the cheese, it would have a good strong taste from it, but sadly there was none & it tasted a bit bland BUT it was nice & creamy SO I will just stick with the Acoustic cafe in Falkirk for their mack & cheese.
My friend had a baked tattie [potato] ???? with cold meat in it & a side salad - & some folks like to eat the skin on the tattie but as you can see she couldn't, so it's Aromas cafe in Falkirk for a baked tattie or the Corner cafe.
Absolutely tremendous breakfast at food@34a today. Very good quality, well cooked and presented and unbeatable value for money. The service was great, lovely staff and the atmosphere was a delight. The decor and the tables and chairs are of a high quality, it's a lovely place to be.
Other cafes in the area; this is best breakfast in Bo'ness by a margin, you'd better up your game because food@34a is leaving you for dead.
Such a wonderful local cafe for breakfast - you couldn’t beat the prices. I had the small breakfast and my husband had the full. Both came with hot drinks and were really substantial. All the ingredients were high quality and perfectly cooked - couldn’t ask for more!
I don't stay in Bo'ness. Popped in for the first time Friday 29/12/23 whilst visiting the town. Got a takeaway small breakfast. Excellent value for £4.70 - included square sausage, links sausage, bacon, beans, tattie scone, beans, black pudding, toast and tea. Very tasty. Tea could have been a bit hotter but that was only thing I could find wrong. Would recommend highly.
For food through the day look no further this place is amazing! 2nd time in there and not got a bad thing to say! the quality of the food is top notch keep up the good work guys!
Really nice place for breakfast or lunch, we first went there as they were open late for HippFest and came back next day for food - so happy we did! Great halloumi burger and very reasonable prices, will be back for sure
Popped in for a coffee and cake, which was lovely. However the welcome was a tad grudging, as we'd shown up a whole half an hour before closing! If Bo'ness wants to attract visitors, the hospitality skills need to step up a gear.
A lovely wee cafe, popped in for a cuppa, had a HUGE homemade scone which was served with lots of spread and jam, and a lovely cup of tea, all cost under £3. Bargain for the scone alone!
