Such a gem! The stairs are steep, there not even stairs!! Be careful! Make sure you bring wet shoes, or something you don't mind getting wet. Knee deep in places. We went early as only car spaces for 3 cars opposite the entrance. Also was good as only saw one other person! If you go don't leave your rubbish or clothing behind. It ruins the place!
Parking is none existent(10-12 parking spots at best). But it was so worth it. Beautiful place and scary/exciting stairs to reach it.
Beautiful place but the steps to the bottom are pretty difficult to get up and down. Parking is also s bit difficult. All things considered still definitely worth the trip.
Beautiful place but trail was not accessible due to rain. No proper parking is available on site.
We used Google Maps and parked just where it took us to, which was a "sort of" car park just off the junction.
From there we headed into the field - after a few wrong turns we found the correct path - so you need to be on the other side of the gorge. Keep to the right of the field, at the bridge jump over the wall onto the main road and then back in on the other side. Then follow the trail along the cliff edge until you reach the steps.
The ladder down is incredibly steep and at some points slippy. Some kind soul has attached some ropes which make it easier but it's still a difficult descent. You will need decent boots!
When you get down there is so much to explore. But you will need to walk through the water. We could only go so far as we hadn't brought watersports shoes or spare clothes. We will definitely be back - better prepared next time.
Great view! Nice place to hangout with friends or family numbers during the summer. The water is quite chill and red Color! You can bring your swim wears with you if you want to check another pool when you go deeper of the canyon. A lot people bring their children here to play. Do not visit here if it rains a lot before the day you visit l, because the steps can be very slippery and going down can be dangerous. Also, you might come across the highland midges if it is very humid. You can easily buy some “Skin so Soft” from Avon to protect you from them. I didn’t use it and I got some bites and it is still itching after weeks! Not sure if these bites are from them. Go there with a sunny weather and you will take some beautiful pictures. At last, the entrance is quite hidden and you can search on the internet for the guide videos. The visit time could take you around 2 hours+ and it is almost impossible for you to find taxis, make sure you find a solution of travelling.
Finally made it and was not disappointed. Followed advice from various sources and got there early and was able to safely park. Walked around to the staircase (there is one ish) made it down - its not too bad to be honest, maybe not if it's raining, but I managed to get down it. It does not disappoint - take wellies in a back pack if you can as we waded through to the other part in bare feet ( it was cold) we had it all to ourselves once the other couple left as we were so early (8am) and were able to take photos with no one in them ???? I climbed back up on all fours mainly ???? and did not look down!! So glad I visited ????
Spectacular if you can get down the stairs. At this time of year I would leave it to experienced hikers/climbers. It was very wet and slippy when I was there, so we didn't go all the way to the bottom, still worth the trip looking at it from the top.
