What’s lovely time we just had at Fairbourne Beach.
We managed to actually go into the sea!
It’s quite a long beach and with the tide out it was delightful.
There’s a toilet block, free, to the right hand side of of the beach,
The township has a decent pub, railway for kids and a mainline.
I visited here for a week on holiday with family and it did not disappoint. Absolutely stunning beach. I would suggest looking at high and low tides to plan your days as when the tide is I'm it comes right up to the shingle edge so if you're looking for a day on the sand it would be good to plan ahead.
On our first day we parked further along instead of parking in the main car park.. Big mistake for a few reasons -
1. We had to lift all of our things over the wall which as a family of 5 adults and 2 children and also 3 dogs included an awful lot of stuff including sun tents and wind breakers for the kids and pups and 3 paddle boards and 4 body boards ????
2. The toilets were miles away which with two year old girls who tend to announce last minute that they need a wee is hard work ????
3. When we got to the toilets, there was no toilet roll - but thankfully we were prepared as we had tissues for hay-fever ???? and no hand wash just some hand gel.
For the remaining days we parked in the main park and paid the rather reasonable cost of the car park. This meant we had easy-ish access to the beach - we still had to navigate the shingle mountain and also we were close to the toilets and the incredible ice cream shop!!!
I'd also recommend the fish and chip shop just up from the beach as it's delicious!!!
Lovely place to have a weak along.
Nice bot of history with the Dragons teeth
Lovely beach in fairbourne. When the tide goes out miles of sand . Not good for pushchairs or wheelchair access big rock sea defence to climb over to get to the sand. I prefer fairbourne beach to Barmouth. If you want a quieter sandy beach it's excellent.
Lovely, long sweeping beach. A mix of shingle and sand and goes on for what feels like miles. Can walk along the path next to the sea wall and admire the miniature railway running alongside. Nice views out to see and framed by the hills on either side of the estuary.
Lovely sandy beach (once you get over the shingle) which goes on for miles. Nice shallow incline and pretty quiet. Two car parks as well. Even has a miniature steam train. Well worth a visit.
A secluded beach with gorgeous views especially at sunset, parking was an issue as the machine was out of order but it was available using the paybyphone app.
There's also a cafe nearby if you want to grab a bite to eat, otherwise it's nice spot for a picnic.
Absolutely gorgeous here! Lovely and quiet. Great amenities. Lovely bar with food drinks and Icecream! Everything you need here ????????????
