Best KPortal Reviews
One of the nicest bakeries I’ve had the opportunity to try. Fresh and tasty confections, sometimes a bit on the sweet side, but they make for a great dessert with friends. Unlike a lot of bakeries, their cakes, cookies and their savory pastries are not dry, but full of flavor and well presented.
The staff is delightful, they’ve made great recommendations with positive customer service. You pay for good quality here, and they receive feedback well. Looking forward to the next visit.
Such a beautiful bakery! The food is unreal and the owner is really lovely. Absolutely worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood, even worthwhile to come up to try.
I had big expectations and really thought I would love this bakery based on reviews here, and walking by the shop always looks delicious.
Sadly, it did not live up to expectations. I hate to write these for small, independent bakeries but it was just disappointing. Maybe it was just an off day, I hope. I went in before noon, so everything should be fresh. I got a few pastries. Sweet cheese bun, vanilla slice, cinnamon roll, and a pie-ish cannoli. I had wanted to sit for a coffee, but the tables were full which is a good sign. I also saw all the paper cups, and I like to drink coffee in mugs. But that's just a personal preference.
The selection was very limited in the display case. I would have thought before lunchtime, there would be much more. No Basque cheesecake (which I am obsessed with when in Spain so it seemed like a great treat to hear about here). Maybe it was just the wrong day of the week?
So, I took my pastries to go. I tried them all that day. The vanilla slice was good. Nice cream, but nothing exceptional. Very much a typical vanilla slice you can get at any British pastry shop. The cheesebun was bland and dry. The cinnamon roll was very dry that it almost seemed stale. Like it wasn't made fresh that day, or perhaps even the day before that. It also lacked filling. I did not finish either the bun or roll. They were both just so dry and lacking in flavour. The cannoli had nice flavour and the pastry was nicely done but I definitely should not have left it until the end of the day as the filling made the pastry soggy.
It wasn't bad, but it was amazing either. Just pretty average.
This place is amazing - if you’ve not tried the fried donuts, jam and cream this is the spot to do it!!!
Marlena Botezatu on YT - you’ll see she was on masterchef and Romania’s got talent too. Just an excellent chef and all around individual ❤️
The moment you walk in you are hit with this amazing smell of bakery goodness. The display cabinet always has a fantastic range of cakes; chocolate, fruit, biscuit (they recently added a biscof cake to their menu, and it is amazing!). Staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. A place I always go to whenever I want something a little more indulgent.
I recently discovered a hidden gem of Romanian traditional bakery delights, offering not only an array of cakes and pastries but also the mouthwatering Langoș. During my visit, while having a lovely chat with the manager, I learned that you can customise your Langoș, and they even accept advance orders. I'll certainly be returning whenever I'm in the area!
I tried several cakes and pastries and they’re lovely. I also love that they keep changing things up, and every time I swing by I might discover something new and unexpected. For instance, I love merdenele, which are normally made with salty cheese. One time they had merdenele with cherry and custard and they blew my mind. Every time I walk in I want to try everything, but whatever I actually end up buying is always amazing. Their Pavlova cake was a delight!
Really great bakery! Glad I found it, they had Basque cheesecake and great cappuccino! Owner was lovely and staff super friendly
