Won't be back. Poor food upset stomach, nothing tasted normal. Both Clandon and Woking. It needs complete change, trying to be something it is not. Let's have simple cafe. Table service rubbish
This garden centre is twinned with a national trust property just off the a25 near West clandon. The setting is a vast expanse of fields just to the east of Guildford. The centre is quite a trek down from the road junction but it's worth it. The garden centre was beautifully upkept and smelt as well as looked wonderful. It was loaded with plants and flowers in bloom and plenty of accessories and resources materials and tools for gardening where on offer there. There is a really good cafe that is well staffed and managed too.
Wonderful place! The tea and cakes were delicious and we got loads of help in finding the perfect plants for our flat. Highly recommend for an afternoon out!
I recently visited this coffee shop, and unfortunately, I had a pretty disappointing experience. First of all, the coffee was not up to the standards I was expecting. It was bitter and tasted burnt, which made it difficult to enjoy. Additionally, the atmosphere was not very welcoming or cozy, making it hard to relax and enjoy my drink.
The staff also seemed disinterested and unengaged with me and I noticed that a bit of discrimination as well I was watching them receiving couples and families that seem to be a middle class the customer service were a bit better and they quite knew I wasn't from there. When I asked a question about the menu, the barista seemed annoyed and gave me a short and unhelpful answer. Customer service is a significant factor in the coffee shop experience, and unfortunately, this place did not deliver it at all. I didn't see a smile in any of the staff in that place which made me feel uncomfortable, sadly it is te only place near by.
Overall, I was disappointed with my visit to this coffee shop. I was hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable experience, but the poor coffee quality, unwelcoming atmosphere, and disinterested staff left me feeling dissatisfied. I won't be returning.
The food in the cafe is ok but is let down by the inflexibility of the options. I can sort of understand not reducing the price of a meal if you want an option removed (eg not having the ham in the ham, egg and chips) but why not allow something else to replace it? It would be easy to do this in the kitchen, since it is cooked to order and would retain the same till price. Spoils an otherwise good meal.
Consistently great selection of goods, lovely staff and an amazing cafe . The selection of cakes (vegan also) are just stunning- truly delicious. Served this evening (30/11/22) by a wonderful young man who couldnt do enough to make us and our 3 young kids welcome. As is our tradition for the past 6 years, we bought our Christmas tree here today and beautiful wreath - worth every penny. Thank you for helping us to create continual memories for our family.
Lovely little garden centre. Plenty of parking. Set out nicely with shop, cafe & outside area. The shop has some lovely gift ideas. Took my great Aunt who walks with sticks, easily accessible. All staff very friendly. We had lunch in the cafe & the young ladies, went out of their ways to make my Aunts lunch to her specification. She needed cushions, they were provided. Whatever she needed they helped with. Will definitely return, next time we are in the area.
I was extremely disappointed that the cafe did not accept cash, however confused by the fact that the garden centre (same owners) does accept it. Would have loved to of left a tip as the chai latte was delicious, but could not because of this.
