Dumplings & Baos is the perfect hidden gem!!
This tiny restaurant delivers in a BIG WAY!
The dim sum are packed with deliciousness and awesome flavor combinations.
We enjoyed a lot of different items and all I d them were phenomenal and reasonably priced.
This is the type of place you’ll want to go with a bestie, a partner or even with a small group of friends to enjoy fresh, homemade dumplings & bao in a very casual, unassuming location.
I absolutely loved this hidden gem, discovered thanks to @eatingwithtod on Instagram. Tucked away on a slightly dodgy side street, you’d likely stroll right by without a second glance.
For me, it was unequivocally a five-star experience from start to finish, though I’d suggest not turning up with the expectation of a posh restaurant - it’s very basic but beautifully decorated. The ambiance is straightforward, with a locked door to ensure a personal welcome upon arrival. It’s snug and feels a bit packed, but the food is nothing short of fantastic and tastes incredibly fresh.
There are a number of 'must-try' dishes, especially the duck bao buns, the fresh lobster dim sum dumplings, the sweet and sour chicken, but the real showstopper was the crispy snow fish.
The staff are really friendly and attentive, and the prices will knock your socks off especially as it’s BYOB! We’re definitely coming back soon to delve into the rest of the menu!
Cosy, intimate and friendly space with fantastic service!! The food was incredible and came out very fast. The snow fish in particular was a standout, and the spicy cucumber salad was so fresh! The dumpling were also the best I've ever tried. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced! Will definitely be back ????
I had my birthday meal at Dumpling and Bao earlier this month and it was absolutely perfect! We were a table of 13 and the staff were brilliant. They managed our table with total ease and made sure we were all having a wonderful time. Not only were the staff amazing, the food also matched this! Every dish we ordered was so delicious. We all can't wait to come back. Thank you so much for making my birthday meal so special - I highly recommend you book a table here.
Went here for lunch and had the most incredible food. Everything we ordered was top notch! We got the lobster dumplings, chicken soup dumplings and snow fish with the kimchi fried rice, everything was so delicious and arrived in great time. The snow fish in particular was tender and had the most beautiful sauce to accompany it. Can’t wait to come back to try more!
Yummy ! We ordered as a group and picked up the food. It tasted really good and wasn’t too salty or sweet. The lady on the end of the phone was really polite and helpful. Interesting and fun selection of buns and dumpling !! Would definitely eat here again - recommend !!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Everything was DELICIOUS and jam packed with flavour. I’ve lived in Clapham for over 30 years I didn’t even know this place existed but wow what an amazing experience. It’s now my favourite food restaurant and I’ve been to a lot. Only snag it’s really small but nevertheless I had a blast. I’ll definitely be returning.
Incredible food, can’t recommend enough, been here several times already, definitely going again. Recommendations: salt and pepper squid, sweet and sour chicken, duck baos, and beef kimchi fried rice.
