The doctors are good but the receptionist is very poor. She needs training in how to talk to people. Very unprofessional and unhelpful. Not fit enough to do her job.
I have been a patient at Duncan Street Surgery for many years, and can only say that I am glad - especially when I hear comments regarding other local. surgeries. The Reception staff are helpful and polite, the Doctors have treated myself and my husband and if they are concerned about anything they will refer you to the service you need (we all have our favourite Doctors but it isn’t always possible to get them all the time). I personally feel very grateful for all the staff at the Surgery. I know people complain about the appointment system, but the Reception staff do their best - shouting and being rude does not help.
Thank you to each and everyone of you at the Surgery for all you do for us both.
Praise where praise is due!!
My son has required extensive shared care within the last couple of years and whenever I have had to reach out to the surgery, the staff have been extremely helpful and are always willing to go the extra mile to help.
It is a pleasure for us to be registered patients at Duncan Street.
A great big thank you from the Quinn family. Keep up the great work.
Some times they don't want to give u an appointment and ask you to go to a and e. When only. U want a doctor. They also give u a nurse when u ask for a doctor who does half a job. All this to push NHS to privatisation. Be firm and make ur point. Start making complaints to get things done. Also this is one of the better ones out there. At least they see u. Unlike the others who ignore u.
Called and was told had to wait 72 hours for a script which is fine. 72 hours later and still nothing and that’s not fine. today is Monday, no calls from them, nothing. How do you expect people to get by without their meds?
I just spoke to Debbie the receptionist on the phone about my father-in-law’s prescription for his blood thinner. We were unable to obtain it from the local pharmacy and asked Debbie if she would organise another script to another pharmacy that I appointed. She was so polite and did it straight away for me and we now have his blood thinners. I’m so glad that my in-laws are at this practice with such helpful staff. Keep it up folks
Multiple Doctors and nurses appointments always available online or at surgery. Friendly reception staff on the desk or phone do there best to accommodate patients. No complaints about the care I have received over the considerable time I have been with them. At times on a few occasions they have spotted serious problems and delt with them quickly by speedy referal and action. I would recommend this practise absolutely.
The doctors are good but the receptionist is very poor. She needs training in how to talk to people. Very unprofessional and unhelpful. Not fit enough to do her job. Someone who works in an industry where the customers health is priority should have more understanding about care and decency. She needs to be retrained as she is the first point of contact and is letting down the whole surgery.
