I joined this practice 2 years ago. I’m Agoraphobic and suffer Social Anxiety , so I rely on phone appointments. I rely on the Patient Access service to read my notes, order my prescription, and check my hospital clinic tests for my physical ailments.
For the first 6 months I was told repeatedly from the phone receptionist to the practice manager that Patient Access is broken. It apparently underwent an update and broke. 6 months later, after monthly calls to P.A and the doctors, P.A. Said they would start an official investigation. Miraculously, it started to work.
After getting to know ( and despise) Mr Thong ( he’s no doctor, I refuse to call him one) it makes sense that he, and the practice, don’t want the patients seeing their medical records. Only they know why. I made an official complaint and received a written apology.
I was also blackballed after that. When I could get through , there’d be no phone consultations available. No home visits. They stopped allowing mt hospital blood test requests unless I personally collect them. One particular receptionist with all the social grace of a baboon told me. “ you don’t have agoraphobia! You can’t have. You go to hospital. You can’t have blood forms unless you collect.
Mr Thong is a very poor physician. He literally shouted at me over the phone because my pain meds stopped working. “ you already have enough, stop asking for more” literally, raised voice shouting. I now have a new practice. This place is atrocious. The receptionists are very poorly trained, yet think they are consultants. Avoid like the plague.
I recently joined this GP practice,due to suffering with a health issue for months which my previous GP did not assist/help in anyway!
I am so glad I had the sense to change my GP practice a week before,I ended up in A & E immediately when the problem had been diagnosed and referred on the day,it was life threatening,and I am so grateful to Angela and all of the team for the help and support they gave me,and extremely grateful.Thank you.
They say to call 8am for appointments. I put my alarm for 7:59am and start calling EXACTLY 8am sharp and the phone rings then switches off or says line busy. I tried until 8:10am redialling and kept doing the same, couldn’t get an appointment for today!
I contacted the surgery on the 30th of September concerning getting my mums summery of care records printed out, advised to come into the surgery on Monday morning to collect them (3rd October 2022). Went in on the Monday and requested this information as advised on the Friday, sat my this young girl was another young girl in shorts and a jumper, apparently this girl was on annual leave, while I’m asking this young girl about the paperwork the other young girl in shorts was extremely rude talking over me constantly, I have never met anyone so rude and with extremely poor customer care. There was other young girls there kneeling onto of the chairs on the reception like it was some sort of youth club.
In future I will be video recording any visits to this surgery as evidence of how poor the standards now are.
Rude, Unhelpful, no care will be leaving asap!!!! After calling at 8am to make a doctors appointment for a crisis situation.. I was told to wait for a Dr Thong to call back.. two days later no phone call, I called to chase this up and the receptionist answered saying hes in a consultation with a little girl?? I wasn't sure if this was her way of trying to make me feel guilty!! We waited.. still no phone call...A phone call was receive the following day .. DR Thong wrongly advised antidepressants, luckily we were clinically advised this could possibly happen and to decline, Dr Thong said he would refer then rudely put the phone down on us! three weeks on I called to chase the referral it had bounced back to DR Thong two weeks ago and had been cancelled!! no interaction from him or the receptionist.. managed to get the crisis team number and they have been amazing!! I have worked as a secretary for Gps and psychiatrists for many years and have never come across a more appalling service.. stay away.
Absolutely useless. Must cal at 8 am for an appointment and after waiting 20 minutes on call they just close the phone and after calling again and wait again 20 - 30 minutes always they don't have any appointments. You have to change the sistem to be friendly and for working people to can make appointmentsin advance . Absolutely careless . This is happening every time for any member of family who needs an appointment. And people who answers the phone are rude .The doctors are awesome. Especially Dr Thong.
Dr Thong and his team are absolutely amazing. Every time I’ve phoned I’ve always got an appointment whether that be a phone call or face to face appointment. Dr Thong always goes above and beyond for his patients I couldn’t recommend a better doctor or team to look after me and my kids.
If I could give 0 I would. This practise has become the worse gp practise I have ever experienced of heard of. Over the years they have become worse and worse. I have been treated at this practise as if I am nobody that matters, cant get an appointment as there are never any drs or nurses available and slots have ran out they tell you to call before 11 am to get a tel appointment but when you do that for 2 days in the row all appointment's are gone. Receptionists think they are gods right hand and they are absolutely awful at any type of patient care and understanding. I have been prescribed wrong medication twice this week and they refuse to get it corrected. when expressing my anger and disappointment they just hang up. I am in a process of making an official complaint to their gp practise and NHS patient liaison and care services.
