Donovan's Bakehouse was a major disappointment. I ordered a custard pastry expecting a creamy delight, but instead, I got a pastry with barely any custard filling and even less cream. It was dry, bland, and definitely not worth the £3 price tag.The lack of quality in their pastries is unacceptable, especially at that price point. The experience left me feeling ripped off and unsatisfied.Considering the abundance of bakeries in the area offering far superior pastries at similar prices, I would strongly advise against wasting your money at Donovan's Bakehouse.Overall, it was a disappointing experience that I would not recommend to anyone. One star is generous, given the poor quality of their products and the lack of value for money.
Nice donut stand in the middle of the market, they have lots of different flavours. The donuts look great but overall nothing too special. The dough is more on the bready side, I do appreciate how the donut wasn’t overly sweet but they are expensive.
£3.5 for the pistachios donut, £3 for the jam filled donut.
In the middle of the Spitalfields Market, there is a sweet little place selling very tasty doughnuts. We had just in the morning a pink iced ring, one sugar ring, and a strawberry and raspberry doughnut. It's quite nice, fresh, and tasty. Prices are Ok, at 2.5£ per piece. There are a few tables located near the stand.
We visited here on Easter Sunday and their donut selection looked amazing! However I think we were sold stale donuts - they were so dry and not edible. There is no way they were baked fresh that morning. Give it a miss!

When it comes to donuts I’m a person of simple tastes and these really hit the spot! Ordered the Jam Donuts which were oozing with beautifully sweet strawberry/raspberry jam, balanced off with a more savoury dough - just to my taste!
If you like super sweet donuts then these may not be for you…but try them anyway!
Donuts to die for. Amazing selection of filled doughnuts, yes please. Located in the Spitalfields market and closer to one of the entrances, this is a cannot miss. Lots of other pastry choices and plenty of seating around. I very much like the doughnut texture not too dough-like and not too fluffy. The filling is also not overly sweet. Some.jave commented on dry doughnuts, I did not have this experience, perhaps better to buy earlier in the day. Highly recommended.
Love a dry doughnut with 1% topping/overly sugary filling? Look no further! It will always be beyond me how you can have such a good location, and not make any effort to getting loyal customers. We won’t be back, but do hope for the next customers that you start caring about selling tasty, fresh donuts - since this is hopefully what you set out to do
Bought a lemon tart because it looked lovely - £3.50. Was utterly awful. Just tasted of sugar with no lemon taste at all. Texture also odd - reminded me of the base from a lemon meringue kit but with less flavour. Very disappointing - went straight in the bin.
