I have tried many Chinese takeaways and there is always that little something missing that stops me giving a full 5 stars. I have finally found my 5 star in the De Bao and its right on my doorstep.
My phone was on constant speed dial for over half hour before my phone was answered an it had only just opened up; that's always a good sign.
My order, from left to right was Sweet n Sour Spare Ribs, Honey & Chilli King Prawn in batter and Singapore Style Chow Mein. The obligatory bag of chips with curry sauce dip complete the meal.
Don't be fooled by those dark ribs; they are slightly crispy on the outer edge but beautifully soft iside. The sweet n sour sauce has to be home made. Its not that thick orangey-red stuff you usually get, this sauce is light, delicately spiced and slightly more sour than sweet, but its difficult to tell because the flavour changes then changes back again. Its a merry-go-round on the taste buds.
The chow mein comprised of perfectly cooked noodles, veg, various meats and prawns and was deliciously flavoured.
And finally those prawns. Wow! They are very different. Cooked in a thin batter and bathed in a honey and hot spicy sauce.
This was my perfect meal and believe me, I am very fussy. I love the heat from this meal. Not too much, but may be a little too warm for some. If you aren't keen on heat or spices choose from the menu carefully.
I have marked 'Atmosphere' as a 5 because I couldn't remove it. As I used a delivery service so used the mark for the guy that delivered. He was very friendly and helpful.

During our holiday visit to Skegness, we decided to try out De Bao Chinese takeaway and ended up spending over £60. Overall, we were impressed with the flavors and timely preparation of most dishes.
However, the low point of the meal was the chips, which tasted like they had been kept warm for too long. Despite this, the rest of the food was enjoyable and well-cooked.
One aspect that bothered me was the cash-only policy. In today's digital age, this seems outdated and raises concerns about tax avoidance. It would be more convenient for customers if they accepted card payments, as many people don't carry cash anymore. Additionally, the sign warning customers to check their change felt unwelcoming.
Despite these issues, I'd still rate the experience as good, mainly due to the delicious food and efficient service.
Just had a delicious takeaway ???? it was so delicious ???? a long wait 35 mins but certainly worth it for the piping hot food still red hot when I walked in with it this Chinese takeaway is on busy main road parking not always good its just on road parking ???? delicious fresh and piping hot certainly would go again oh dear I went again wasn't very good this time I will leave the 4 stars because last time it was amazing salt and pepper chips very dry sweet and sour sauce very watery it's a shame ???? I didn't eat much of it if I go again I hope its as delicious as the first time if I go again that is
Great food at a cheaper price than our local area, only downside was couldn’t get through on the phone to order so had to drive to the shop and wait quite a long time but it was a Saturday so to be expected busy.

We aren't from the area, we were staying in Skegness for the weekend and now I'm absolutely gutted we don't live here! The BEST Chinese takeaway we have ever had. The portions were HUGE, usually I demolish a takeaway but had anough for leftovers the next day. Didn't take too long, and food was piping hot on arrival (they delivered to our caravan park). Might have to book another cheeky weekend away just to have this food again ????
Ordered a Takeaway from this place while on holiday in Skegness this past week, Wednesday evening, delivered to our Holiday Haven Site ( Used to be Richmond) No doubt it was the nicest Chinese Takeaway we have ever had , even better than from our favourite Takeaway in our home town we have on a regular basis. Best everything! And delivery and price was spot on. Delicious! A highlight of our week ????????
Lovely Chinese the best we have found,it's a wait when you order.but you know everything is cooked from scratch .I just wish they answered there phones .just a little niggle .
