Really rude lady in the back preparing the food. Felt so sorry for the young girl who had to apologise on her behalf. When my husband and I went in we were charged an extra £6.50 to eat in and not even told about it. Says on menu eating in charge but does not state how much. When we said if it’s that much we will takeaway the old rude lady in the back said well we can’t refund you and if your not eating in get out!
Thank god my husband had not pressed enter on the card machine so we were not charged.

Visited yesterday whilst on a business trip to Shrewsbury. The lady was an absolute pleasure to speak to and the food I ordered were both delicious and great value for money.
I hope that the lovely lady's day got better after having a rather unpleasant customer earlier in the day...thank you, I would definitely recommend Darwin's...
English breakfast and American pancakes ordered for delivery. Good quality bacon & sausages, all cooked perfectly and delivered quickly, so still nice and hot. Faultless.
With all the lovely coffee shops in Shrewsbury town and lovely friendly places to go. Supporting local businesses is essential, so shame on the lady today whom was rude, obnoxious and made my five year old daughter cry. Hope your coffee is better than your customer service! She certainly won’t forget her Darwin’s Sandwich Evolution experience in a hurry!
A very good place to get yourself a quality fried breakfast, they also sell amazing coffee that's free of the taste of pesticides. Also the prises are amugst if not the cheapest in Shrewsbury and considering that all the food I have eaten from there has been organic I'd say that it's a great favourite of mine and go regularly, also regular customers get free refills on coffee and tea. Owned by Gwen, who has built a great team of staff I feel I can talk to. Only 4 stars because the furniture bothers me hahahaha!
Darwin's is a place I visit fairly regularly.
Always served nice food and friendly service.
Situated just across the road from Shrewsbury's Indoor Market Hall.
Darwin's could be quite easily overlooked, which would be a real shame.
It's compact, with a small ground floor, with further seating upstairs.
It's quite ordinary in many respects, but always offers a refuge, especially if you prefer not to frequent some of the bigger noisier establishments.
A great place to enjoy the quality of life and watch the world go by.
Places like these add to the charm of this town and need to remembered, frequented and not lost to history.

We were on a short break in Shrewsbury and our Airbnb was not far from Darwin's. So an ideal stopping point when we were tired and thirsty! As tempted as I was to have a Pina colada milkshake, I went for the non-alcoholic version while my son had a peanut butter one. I was also able to have a delicious piece of gluten-free carrot cake. They cater for dietary requirements really well. We enjoyed it so much we made a plan on the spot to return after check-out on the Saturday morning!! A full English really set us up for a looonngg day of travelling. Despite being ever so busy - both staff were so friendly and we bought some Shrewsbury biscuits for family (including a Vegan version, wish there was a gluten-free one but I know myself how hard it is to bake with GF flours!) Great value for money and proper home cooked food with quality ingredients. We loved our visit and hope to be back soon.
Excellent food at a great price. If you want a special treat try the romantic breakfast for 2 delivered. Friendly team. 10/10 ????????????
