Rude staff one lady in particular!! She had brown hair and had an accent (Polish) 1st she made us the wrong drinks and said we told her different, then when she went to make the right drinks take them into the kitchen to have a chat with her coworker with our drinks in her hand.. when she brought them she slammed them down, but they spilt and walked away.. the said drinks tasted absolutely disgusting so we ended up leaving them and going to Greggs for a hot drink…
Thou I can say the lamb and mint pasty was nice
Atmosphere was shoddy . The lady behind the counter was RUDE , taking our order and after ! I was stood in the queue and the lady I was with sat down. The lady said too the people in the queue 'butter on your jacket ' and swiftly seconds later said 'ill.take that as a no then '
I then said across the queue 'who are you actually talking too ? ' she said 'not you yours is In the oven . I said no but who are you talking too as the lady I'm with has that '
She rolled her eyes and slammed down whatever she had in her hand !
Then sat down ate our food , the rude lady had done the wrong coffee . Turns out she was too bothered about how much pain she was in too actually sort customers properly . (advice don't come too work if your in that much pain )
I went upto the counter too order a cake , served by a lovely girl . I said I've just had some food and first we had the wromg coffee and an item wasn't put on a food item .
The rude lady shouted ' I'm not gonna rise too it not gonna rise too it I'm going too take five minutes because I can't be dealing with this ' shes then smirking at another member of staff , talking about me AS A PAYING customer too other customers . My reply 'i work in a cake shop and this is absolutely rude disgusting customer service '
No wonder your loosing business ????
But looking at the reviews not just me that thinks the staff are rude . ????
This shop gets 10 out of 10 from me. the staff is very polite and very helpful all the time fresh sandwiches every day made to order just the way you like them and good meal deals lovely cakes and biscuits and a 5 star rating to and very nice pastes to.
Went in on Saturday afternoon, Wondering why there was only 2 people in the place, when all the other cafes i town was busy, the answer soon became clear. Ordered 2 white coffees, and a cup of tea, The half wit behind the counter, made said coffees and tea. Then announced we dont have any milk, is there anything else you would like, don't know what he was going to change milk for. Said no we only came in for drinks, Then he seemed to be offended that i dared to say no.
At no point did the words sorry, we have no milk, come from his lips, Walked out in disgust. How can a cafe run out of milk on a busy afternoon, It wouldnt have been so bad if there isnt a shop near by to get more. But in the middle of town, with Tesco been a short walk away, or a little corner shop not very far away. Least ti say wint ve going back
All the hot food is bought in from pilgrims foods, not worth the money. Greg's is cheaper and actually manufactured by them, the lamb pasties are terrible. This is to be expected when the lamb filling is purchased from Iceland in bulk though
Do yourself a favour and give it a miss. Thought we support a local business and get coffee and snack (could have gone greggs across the road for half price). Big sign outside advertising hot drink and breakfast bap all day 2.75. The miserable girl at the counter said we have no bacon (11am, butchers counter in situ). Said ok will have sausage butty and coffee. Got charged 6.75 and when questioned the price she said vat is added for sitting at the table. I am no matematician but vat is not 40% in this country. No customer toilet, long wait, would not recommend.
We get half a dozen cheese straws and two jam doughnuts most days, best doughnuts ever. Today felt quite bad for the lovely ladies in Silver Street shop as the doors apparently had to stay open which made the place as cold as outside and it’s pretty parky at the moment!!
Bought two things, Lincolnshire sausage roll and steak bake. Both were burnt on the bottom. Had a mouthful of each, too dry out to eat so binned. Seemed like they must have been there a while.
