Best KPortal Reviews

I was really curious about this place and had the opportunity to head in for lunch, had Oxtail and Fried Rice...bit of a weird combo, but they had run out of RicenPea.
I really admire people looking to open these kind of business in Purley, so have to give this a 5star!
I'm no officanado, but I would rate the food as a 4...I thought it was OK, Oxtail was a bit fatty, having fried rice was weird (but then if they had a big order earlier, I get that). I still left there with the warm satisfied feeling in my belly that only carribean food can give you.
More people should go!
NB - also, I love the sass the owner is giving other reviews :-)
I went there for a few things. I think its one of the best breakfast in Purley so far. The breakfast took a bit of time, but gosh it was delicious. Fresh mushrooms that are full of flavour and their beans tastes so flavourful. Their products are of high quality because their sausages and bacon was very nice not the cheap stuff. I also bought their red velvet with cream cheese frosting which was really lovely and fresh.Their paninis and baguettes are freshly made and i think their prices are very very reasonable compared to other places. I wish them all the best
The staff here were really nice however unfortunately the pastries I bought were all stale and had been left out too long. I bought 2 cake slices and a brownie for takeaway. When I got home and tried them 30mins later the brownie was so hard around the edges I couldn't bite or cut into it and tasted very floury/powdery. The cream on the cake slices tasted gone off and the cakes themselves were hard and stale. It was such a shame because they looked very nice but unfortunately I had to throw them all in the bin.
Expensive and not fresh! I have tried brownie and cheesecake - you could taste it was simply old! Fried buns were oily and tasting like a fish. Big disappointment and zero responsibility to feed people well! I do not waste a food but this order went to the bin.
This is NOT authentic Caribbean food. A complete tasteless, heartless knock off. £13 for curry goat, rice n peas is a joke. Please do not buy this and hold this to the standards of our culture as it's a embarrassment. Go to yard food at Croydon market, it's £7 for curry goat with rice n peas, stewed veg, some mac n cheese - this is a proper representation of our culture. Do not waste your money buying from this place, just look at the real reviews and the way they respond to them. It's pathetic. I do hope some day we'll get a proper Caribbean place that's local as all the current ones are shambles.
Was looking forward to supporting a local business when this opened, but when ordering our breakfast, it took 40mins to come for two of us, not to mention we were the only people sitting in too! The toast was cold and dry, but the sausage was nice!(one star for that) My little girl needed the toilet as we was potty training, so when needing to go toilet it needs to happen pretty quickly, they refused her to use their toilet, even after saying she’s currently potty training, so we had to frantically go out on the street and run into the pub so she could go!! I understand that it may be for staff, but it’s a two year old girl!!! We then brought cakes to leave with, got home, and they were the worst taste-less cakes I have ever had, so they were all put in the bin! Not been back since!
Ordered breakfast veg bap (2) and Victoria sponge for £12. The bap was good and tasty with good quality ingredients and flavours. The cake was not too impressive, excessive amounts of butter cream and a bit sweet in places. The let down here was the pricing, charging £4.50 per slice only is excessive even if made in house, inflation maybe the cause but if you're not offering a hot drink or something with that, these kind of prices are not sustainable. However still giving 3 stars as everything is made in house and nothing from outside (or much).
Had a delicious meal of Oxtail and Rice with a salad and an Oreo brownie and ice cream for dessert. The food was fresh and wholesome. The atmosphere was welcoming, warm and the staff are very friendly. The pricing was reasonable. Nice place.
