I like to go to Cottage Bakery as the tea cakes are just tasty, they have a good selection of buns and also do hot sandwiches and it is busy most of the time, but it is worth the wait and the staff are friendly
Friendly staff and stocked for many food requirements, milk, butter, groceries etc (even firelighters) I called on 13/1/23 and bought 1 small white loaf, 6 fruit tea cakes, 4 brown rolls, a Christmas Mincemeat Crumble and 2 fresh cream fruit buns, sharing them with BF and my hubby was a delight.
The price was quite a bit less than I thought it would be = BONUS!!
Definitely making it a regular stop when I have time, visiting my friend in Silkstone Common.
If you want quality bakes ... go there !!!
Fabulous village bakery, every day they bake the best fresh bread for miles around & their ham salad sandwiches are legendary.
Lovely friendly ladies work in the shop. We are so lucky in our village to have The Cottage Bakery & I highly recommend.
We had been looking for a good home bakers since moving to Barnsley and have now found one. Lovely range of bread and rolls.My husband loves their sticky buns,cakes,tarts (all of them????) .Love the ham salad rolls to all fresh and well filled. Helpful friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
Great breadcakes! Great staff! Just lose a star for serving a breakfast sausage sandwich, which had hot but dry sausages, in a freezing cold breadcake with what really took the biscuit, freezing cold sliced salad tomatoes in it?! Won't be having one of them again unfortunately.
Just had a beautiful afternoon tea made up for my Mother-in-laws 90th birthday. Fresh sandwiches, pork pie, quiche and lots of lovely cakes and scones. Ordered last week and collected Saturday morning. Enjoyed by all. Thank you.
Covid freindly clean really good food pleasant staff a car park to the rear. All fresh food served. the only thing is that the menu is displayed at the far side of the shop it would save time if I could look and decide before going to a till, of which they have lots of and are quick to serve.well organised and clean good food.
Great value snacks. Amazing place to have as a corner shop. The ham is delicious (best place in barnsley to get ham). They make amazing desserts too. The only downside is they seen to never be open. But if u manage to be passing whilst they are open, definitely call in
