Great café if you're looking for a 'traditional' East London 'greasy spoon!' Home-made chips are excellent.
The usual highly prepared good down to earth food. Excellent service and choice.
Even if l am working in Dagenham fire station l will drive to Plaistow to eat at the Cosy .
I have eaten there for 8 years and recomend it to all my work mates .
Fish and chips on a Friday blinking fantastic
My own favourite is spaghetti bolognese made in the proper Italian way.
Great food at great price, staff really friendly. Hard to find a good greasy spoon now but this is definitely up there
REALLY tasty food - I had egg on crusty toast with bubble n squeak and a good, really hot, latte - and very reasonably priced too. Egg was PERFECTLY cooked, as was toast (not always a given in cafs), the bubble was great but if I'm being picky I would have liked a bit more cabbage to potato ratio. Took me a while to find this place but it was the only option near to where I was working and I was very pleased with it - I didn't have a lot of time and they got my food to me quickly. Staff are friendly. I would 100% go back if I was in the area again; the standard of cooking for simple things makes me think their meals are probably pretty darned good!
Hidden gem
Lovely staff
Great food
I've passed this place many times over the past five years but never went in until today when I bought a sausage and bacon roll to take away. My initial delight at the low price of £3 soon evaporated when I took it out of the bag and started to eat it as the roll wasn't fresh - the crust was very wrinkled and was tough, not crusty or soft, and akin to chewing leather or rubber!
Love this cafe people are amazing we love it
Excellent little gem of a cafe!! This little cafe serves up no nonsense good much.
It's a traditional local English cafe with friendly staff and effort made to provide a nice meal and a decent cup of coffee!!
Expect to see raw East London locals here but there's always a friendly atmosphere.
Parking is a pain as it's all permit parking however there is pay and display further down the road.
