Absolutely adore this place. From the outrageous jam in their donuts to the depth of flavour in their bread loaves, their bakes goods are out of this world. The coffee is spot on, with a perfectly sized menu of options. The sandwiches are probably the best I've ever had - and they come with crisps. Lovely gang of people in there delivering wonderful service and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Unpretentious and deeply satisfying.

The best bakery and pastries in York hands down! A weekend morning regular at this place and everything on the menu is fantastic. The variation in pastries and the quality is always spot on, fantastic service and would highly recommend to anyone in the area as a must try! More of the breakfast pastry with the nectarines please!!

I read about the bakery in The Guardian so wanted to check it out.

It was by far the best bakery I've been to. The sandwiches were superior and the coffee spot on. I didn't try a pastry this time but will be back!! They looked incredible. Friendly staff too.

Absolutely fresh and tasty pastry. The cinnamon roll was just perfect with the sweetness,cinnamon and texture just out of this world. The interior and atmosphere of the place is very cozy. All in all very good.

Absolutely fantastic artisan bakery. Everything handmade on the premises. Get there early as its do good they sell out before the end of the day. Sourdough loaves, pastries, croissants and hot sandwiches to take out.

Best bakery in York. I wish I found this place on my first day of my trip and not the last but I made up for it by getting a bunch of treats and they were all delicious. I got to talk to the owner a bit and he was great and so welcoming. Go here!

The pastries were fluffy and full of flavor. We had a sandwich too and you can just tell so much thought and care has gone into the creation.

Having read good things about this place and the pastry chef, I had high expectations and was excited to try it out. Great coffee (love North Star) and a well-made flat white, but the pastry was disappointing. I had the lemon and blueberry cruffin which had only a *very* small dribble of lemon filling and two blueberries stuck on top. There wasn’t any other hint of blueberry or lemon (as far as I could tell) so it was quite dry, which is a shame. Maybe I just had a bad one?
