Great food, ample portions and cheap as chips! That goes for drinks too! £5.20 for a pint of guiness and a pint of strongbow dark fruits!!!!! Recommend the steak pie, proper chunks of beef, no fat! Interior could do with an overhaul tho, very worn and dated but if it keeps the food and drink costs down, then it's not significant. Going back soon for a c2 course steak dinner deal on Groupon! Can't wait!!!! Been back since, everytime food is excellent .steak was cooked to perfection one of the best steaks I've had and I've had a lot! Can't wait to go back Yum yum ????
My partner and I took my dad here today for lunch. We've never been before so thought we'd give it a try.
Don't know where to start my comments.
On arrival we were met by a very cheery friendly member of staff and made to feel welcome.
The food we ordered was delicious, well presented, huge portions and 1st class. The service was 1st class too. I'd recommend lentil soup and the highlander burger it's scrumptious.
Very reasonable prices too so we will definitely be eating there again in the very near future.
Thanks for a fantastic experience Corrigans see you soon
Visited with my wife, son and grandson. We went there on the recommendation of my brother in law and we were not disappointed. We purchased a Groupon voucher online , 3 course meal for 4 people £27.99 . There was a slightly restricted menu because of the Groupon deal but honestly the food was brilliant. The lady serving us could not have been nicer . Also the drink prices were very reasonable. Starters which we had , 3 garlic mushrooms / 1 soup , were first class . The mains , 2 x fish and chips , 1 steak pie and 1 macaroni cheese , were really good . The sweets , 3 toffee caramel and ice cream were great , my wife couldn't manage a third course . I was really impressed with the standard of the food considering what we paid for the voucher. Staff were lovely , food was excellent , all in all a great afternoon . The decor may be needing spruced up in certain areas but I wouldn't take any marks off for that . We were there for a meal not to look at wallpaper . Really enjoyable .
Have been here a few times for food and it was always tasty. Visited it again yesterday and the food was rotten. Chips tasted and looked reheated. Ask for diet Pepsi and was given some cheap cola. Took them back to the bar and the waitress was not too happy. The service, food and drink was awful. Its put me off going back.
Ordered Steak Pie, ate Lasagne. Wouldn't recommend the steak pie, I sent mine back as it was cold and the gravy had clumped together like little pieces of jelly. It put me off but, had it been of an appropriate temperature, I don't think I'd have loved it anyway.
The lasagne was nice.
Staff were wonderful, we were given a discount to compensate. Atmosphere was lovely too.
Used to LOVE coming here for my lunch. Was hit or miss brilliant, depending on who was working. Recently though, they've downed the portion, added salad which wilts because its put in a polystyrene box and it's just not as good. Sorry guys. Stop trying to fix what wasnt broken
The meat in the steak pie was lovely but presentation was poor. I asked for mashed potato which were you very dry and slapped on the plate. Surroundings really poor and run down. A typical corner shop pub and a one off for me I'm afraid.
My friend and I went to this bar today with a Groupon deal £16.50 for three courses for two people.
We refused to eat there after discovering that a three course meal for two if you walked in off the street would have cost just £15.98.
Now we know it sounds silly arguing over a few pence but we'd like to ask the manager of the bar why it costs more via Groupon when most food deals on that website offer anything between 25%/50% off most meal deals ?
