As a Family, we come here every weekend with our Parents who are in a Nursing Home. The staff here are absolutely brilliant! We look forward to our warm welcome and our weekly cuppas and snacks. They look after us very well and are always friendly and kind, often stopping to have a natter and laugh with us. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming and the food and drinks are always nice as well. They have a modest range of food from homemade cakes, pastries to crisps and sandwiches to healthier / lighter options, including fresh fruit.
The venue itself is wheelchair-friendly as well as dog-friendly and offers plenty of seating inside and out. In the warmer weather, we quite like to buy a bag or two of duck food on offer (if we have the change between us!) so we can feed the ducks at the nearby pond, which makes a lovely afternoon of visiting and going for a stroll in Thetford Forest with our Parents...
A lovely local gem! Thank you!
Lovely place to have a snack after a walk around Brandon Park. Will put more details later. We sat in the sofa area and fed our baby son here. It was comfy and warm which made was good. It was very clean and the toilets where well looked after. There was disabled access here and the cafe food was good quality.
Pleasant staff. Basic cafe tables etc. Food good snack food to warm you up a a chilly day. Good selection of coffees. Place clean and tidy. Nothing to complain about.
Simple food but fine for forest days out. Hot drink quality very variable, some staff would benefit from a barista masterclass. Service would benefit from a bit of extra polish, sparkle and smiles from a few staff.
We were really looking forwards to lunch at the cafe as we had been there a few years ago and had delicious food.
Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Pre-packaged food; low quality small and soggy sausage rolls (£2.50) plopped on a paper plate; wooden cutlery which wouldn't cut and barely enough tea in the pot for one small cup each.
The only good thing was the cheese scone.
This is a lovely park let down by the cafe.
Good range of sandwiches and cakes to refuel after a ride. Less busy and nicer than the cafe in the other car park.
Board says sandwiches. Server said we don't do sandwiches. Someone came out of the kitchen and said we can do sandwiches. We asked for cheese and pickle- they don't have pickle. But they had a bit of onion left over. They don't do take away. £18+ for 2 basic sandwiches ( bread a bit dry), 2 bags of crisps, one coffee and 2 slices of cake. We'll take our own food in future.
We went to the Brandon country park today with the kids and Decided to have something to eat before the kids participated in the Easter trial, we ordered 2 Sausage rolls, 1 coffee and 1 small tart. The Sausages rolls where £2.50 each and tiny! We paid and went to eat them and they where appalling tough chewy pasty, which means they where microwaved to reheat them and paid £2.85 for a extremely small latte which was cold and we got about 5 mouth fulls out of it. We didn’t want to waste time complaining as they had 2 staff on and only 1 of them serving. We took the children on the Easter trail which was £1 per child, we done the trail which took about 10 minutes to do filled out the puzzle sheet and went back so the kids could collect their prize! They was so excited for the prize and Then so disappointed when they where asked to pick a sweet from a basket. We can’t understand why we was charged £4 for the children to get a small lolly pop that comes from a £1 multipack. Some parents struggle for money and think the children will get a nice little prize and could of brought their children a bag of lolly’s for the price they paid for just 1! How can the cafe justify charging people these sort of prices? I could understand if it was Artisan coffees and food, but it’s all pre ordered frozen foods! It’s absolutely ridiculous and puts us off going back again. I can see why people have always said to us to take our own food and drinks because it’s a rip off!
