Nice place. This was our second visit, the first time was good with excellent coffee made with North Star beans. Since then they seem to have changed to some poor quality beans. Just about drinkable as flat white but my espresso was so harsh it was hard work to get through. Sadly won’t be going back as a decent coffee is the main reason to visit - unless of course they revert to North Star beans (please).
Edit 2 —
I enjoy getting takeaway coffee from here as I can drink it in the park. I have to point out that I ordered an oat milk flat white one time and was given regular cow milk. I’m lactose intolerant! Good thing I just had a sip. The takeaway breakfast sandwich is delicious served on a lovely challah bun, which I’ve never tried before. The availability of these buns seems random as I got a takeaway sandwich another time and it was on a regular plain bun, nowhere near as nice.
Edit 1 —
Visited for food for the first time. Unfortunately a little underwhelmed. The atmosphere was a bit awkward as it was a quiet day. They didn’t have the right bread for my schnitzel (which I was excited for as I’d never tried it before) so it was served in a cold muffin. On a chipped plate. The salt beef sandwich was apparently nice, the feedback was that it’d be nicer on a more exciting bread than plain white sliced. Just chips, no latkes. For ~£30 (two lunches and two coffees) it was overpriced. Maybe just a bad day? We’ll come back and try again at some point.

Only grabbed coffee so far, but it was tasty! They have oat milk and a small selection of coffee syrups. Will sit in for food some time soon :)
The food is spectacular and the owner is a charismatic, generous and accommodating gentleman. I've tried a number of interesting dishes over the past year and they all taste remarkable (I've had the chicken and salt beef sandwiches recently, both of which are absolutely delicious). The staff are warm, attentive and genuine - the attention to detail with both food prep and customer care is excellent. All in all, a small and valuable gem in central Moortown, that I personally feel very lucky to have round the corner.
Really enjoyed Comptoir - schnitzel sandwhich & salt beef bagel were delicious, and fresh latkes. Coffee was also done well.
We ordered a middle Eastern breakfast and brioche French toast with a couple of flat whites. I can honestly say this place is one of the best hidden gems for food in the whole of Leeds. It has a very chill vibe that makes you feel very welcome.
Excellent brunch options. Service attentive. Coffee good. Excellent salt beef.
