Me and my partner got a table last minute, in which we were so grateful as it seemed to be on arrival the place to be in Hayfield. We'd only seen it when driving through the village.
The food was absolutely amazing!! The waitresses were also so great!! The only thing that took a star off them was, I don't know if he was the owner. Italian guy. Being rude to his staff. He seemed too controlling. The girls were obviously more than capable of doing their jobs. They looked unhappy. We noticed him taking meals off the waitresses to deliver to the tables himself. Assuming to get the credit himself. There was an incidence when a waitress did manage to make it to a table with food to get shouted at "do they want cheese?!!" He didn't give her the chance to ask before shouting this. Funny as when he delivered my meal he neglected to ask if I wanted pepper or parmasan!!! I had to ask for it!!!!
We went to Colosseo last night as a special evening before our baby comes along on Friday!
We have been before so knew the food would be spot on! And it didn't let us down! The food is so fresh and delicious. We had the ribs to share for a starter as well as some garlic bread. The ribs were in such a flavourful sauce, I would highly recommend these as a starter. For mains I had the homemade meatballs and my partner had the calzone with Bolognese sauce, both were gorgeous! The staff on arrival were really friendly as always . However the music was so loud we couldn't really hear each other talk. The service was good, we didn't wait ages for food , however we did have to wait a while for drinks and to get attention from waiters to order more drinks even though our empty glasses had been there for a while, even when they brought food to the table. I ordered water at the beginning and had to ask 3 times before we actually received it. However it didn't dampen our evening and we still had a nice time . :)
We met friends (who were late) on a busy bank holiday weekend. I loved the hearty genuinely Italian, fairly priced food and the responsive efficient service. The only let-down (hence 1 star loss) was the thumping music over our table; ok for a nightclub/bar but not for people wanting a nice evening of conversation and catch-up. (They turned it down a bit, but they may want to think about what their sound system is for.)
WOW! first time at this amazing place and can't recommend it enough! Blown away! The food the ambiance the location the place the choice the staff all wow factor! We will be back again very very soon! Thankyou Colosseo! ❤
Fitted us in without a reservation on a Saturday night, so lucky! It was really nice to dine here, food and service was absolutely A1!

Great dining experience and the food was amazing! Booking was easy...just call. Online booking not available. The atmosphere was was great! Families, friends, couples, and singles! The staff was attentive and spot on! Portions sizes were very good and the flavours were fabulous! I highly recommend this place!
We had a lovely early evening meal here this week. We went into this restaurant on the off chance, we were accomodated. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, the pasta was gorgeous, we would recommend this restaurant, and have already. The prices were also good. Overall a very pleasant experience, hence the 5 stars. Thank you.
Went here for large family wedding celebration meal. We were upstairs great atmosphere and every single person was happy with their food said it was delicious. Service was excellent would definitely recommend.
