We visited for lunch with some friends on a Friday. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and there was a very good choice of food. We had toasted sandwiches and potato skins, both served with a side salad, then another coffee and cake.
The food was delicious, great atmosphere and the owner was very helpful with our allergy questions.
I would thoroughly recommend, and we'll definitely visit again.
I have been to this place countless times and have always had a good experience however, I went this week to meet a friend with our 2 7month old babies. Most of the staff are always friendly apart from the man that owns it. I’ve noticed on a few occasions that he seems incredibly hostile and frosty.
After being in there for about 1.5 hours (purchased 2 drinks each) he made it very clear that he didn’t want us to be there. He asked my friend to move her push chair outside into the porch even though it was cold wet and windy. We would understand if the place was busy but there were only about 4 other tables occupied. He then went on to say we were blocking the doors and tables. Which we were not at all. He then moaned about us to another member of staff (wife?) although he didn’t know, that was actually in earshot and we even saw his wife look over and say ‘shh’ to him as she was obviously aware that we could see. This made us feel extremely uncomfortable. As young mums taking new babies out, it is often quite an anxious experience and this just made our experience horrible. Unfortunately both of us said we won’t be coming back here. In our opinion this particular man does not seem to make the place feel ‘child friendly’ at all which is a massive shame because everyone else in there does. A lovely place with lovely coffee, food and staff but unfortunately completely let down by the male owner.
The owners a front of house and make you feel so welcome. Lots of staff, nothing is too much trouble. Would visit everyday if I lived nearby. Spotlessly clean. Great choice of food.

The vegan option was delicious :) sweet potato and kale sausage roll.. highly recommended
They also offered a vegan breakfast but didn’t have time to try that :)
I’d love to see some vegan cake options and other snacks delights for us plant based people ????????????
Visited here last Thursday for the first time would highly recommend.
Lovely atmosphere, greeted as soon as walked through the door, had the politest young man serving us, lovely food and decent coffee
Nice looking place inside, but unfortunately the staff I found quite rude. Order came out wrong and felt rushed. Won't be back any time soon
Nearly £20 for what looked like an uncooked sausage roll- a dry tasteless tuna melt- no butter or mayo. Strawberry milkshake nice and staff pleasant. Re the Barns response. What you gave me was NOT a tuna melt but tinned tuna with cheese. The tuna should have been mixed with mayo and spring onions. It wasn't nice. I hope you have a good Easter too
I saw from other reviews that laptops, tablets and "working" are not allowed. Seems that if you abide by these rules (otherwise only notified via small notices on the wall), you shouldn't incur the wrath of the management.
