This is a great restaurant, a treat to visit, the food is excellent quality with great attention to presentation. It is reasonably priced with a range of dishes to suit all tastes and budgets. A excellent wine range has the option to purchase by various glass sizes or bottle. The premises are very clean and the WCs are immaculate. A great host and they deserve to do well. Good luck. We will be back when we are in the area.
Four if us had lunch at The Bell today this was our fist visit but we will definitely return.
Good service very friendly staff. Impressed with the menu choices, did not have to wait too long for our food to be served. The lasagne could have been hotter but very tasty. The men had chosen fish and chips which they enjoyed and three of us had a delicious cheesecake whilst I chose the Italian ice cream. Good value for money
Didn't eat there as only popped in for a pint. Had a look at the menu - Italian based, with prices that seemed reasonable.
However, looked at the wine list and the cheapest was £17.50, with most £20 plus. It's a village pub for goodness sake, not a fine dining restaurant, so why charge so much? The beer selection was also a bit limited.
Lovely people.....extraordinary food! We had a lovely friendly, warm welcome. Had the best Sunday roast I've ever tasted; real homemade Yorkshire puddings ( big & puffy as they should be) they best ever gravy made with their own home made stock! Both my husband & I thought this..... Very highly recommended
Visited for the first time in a long time for the jazz night and was pleasently surprised by the new decor and the good beer.
Highly recommended!
Now given that we went here for the first time since its re-opening on a Tuesday night, it was pretty quiet - well, very quiet actually; we were the only guests in the restaurant - nevertheless, we were not disappointed.
The menu consists of 2 parts: firstly, a wide selection of small dishes which they encourage people to share with each other, and secondly, some larger "main meal" selections.
The three of us ordered a selection of the smaller dishes: patatas bravas (excellent); marinated anchovies ("boquerones" in Spanish, brilliant); goat cheese and beetrot salad (also excellent), and olives with a selection of traditional breads.
Between the three of us we found that the two mains we ordered - chicken skewers and paella - were more than sufficient. The chicken was superb: really tender and somehow prepared in such a way that it was really tasty, so unlike chicken often is, namely rather plain. The paella was full of shellfish, prawns and chicken.
Clearly they use some really good ingredients and, as Fillipo himself explained to us, everything is freshly cooked there and then. The quality really shows through.
In case you were thinking that small dishes means you'll be leaving wishing you'd had more to eat, well you can put those fears to bed. Together with the friendly, informal service, we really enjoyed it. We will certainly be back.
Had dinner here tonight .. a mixture of tapas between the two of us - crispy squid, garlic prawns & whiskey chorizo all excellant, great flavours and home-cooked bread. For mains a fantastic Paella and a Pork collar .
Service good (admittedly it was a quiet night) but would highly recommend
You have to visit this place!! We stopped here for dinner last night on our way home to Manchester. The food was freshly cooked, with amazing flavour that was a delight to demolish!! The staff were friendly and welcoming. They even helped our very fussy daughter eat something different without one complaint. Thank you.
