Hi Anne, thanks again for making our stay in Islay so warm and comfortable! The pictures of your self-serve cabin don't do it justice at all. Loved the warm wood interior and the rugs were a thoughtful touch. It had everything we needed. Good-as-new cookware, nice crockery and cutlery, and wine glasses (we used your egg cups as shot glasses ha). Modern bathroom has a heated towel rack. Had better sleep than in some 5-star hotels because the bed... Wow. With the super fluffy pillows and comforter, it was like a loving embrace. And just a 2-min walk from the Bruichladdich distillery. Perfect.
Wonderful B&B. My room looked onto the beach and water. What a magical view. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious. Rosie the dog was lovely and very friendly. Thus was my 2nd stay. I sure hope I get the opportunity to go again soon. Best Betty-Ann
We really enjoyed staying at Anchorage. The rooms were nice and clean, had a kettle, teas and coffees in them (we stayed in one room and then were moved to another one with a beach view which became available). The host Anne is great - very friendly and accommodating. There’s a lovely living room downstairs with a fireplace and a lot of books which can be used by residents. Parking is easy - right in front of the house. Anchorage also welcomes dogs and there’s a beach and grass patch right in front of the house to walk your dog. Cooked breakfast was great and all you need to set you up for the day. All in all a very good stay at a great price and we’d stay there again!
We spent 3 nights at the B&B and felt absolutely at home here! Anne is a great host and as everyone else says, the breakfast is phenomenal. Would definitely recommend.
I stayed here with my partner & our dog Luther & we all loved it. Anne & John are fantastic hosts. The cabin is within the grounds of the B&B property, just to the left in the rear garden area. We had access to our cabin early as no-one had stayed the night before us which was very helpful, as we could drop our belongings & food off early then go exploring. Anne & John gave great advice for things to do nearby & places that were dog friendly. The cabin itself was perfect for our needs, had everything we needed & was beautifully furnished & very comfortable. There's a small fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, 2 ring hob, TV, radio, electric shower & wifi. All crockery, utensils & towels are provided. Free parking is available directly opposite the B&B & this has a beautiful outlook to the beach. There's a beautiful garden area, which we had access to for exercising the dog. The garden also had a BBQ that we utilised for our disposable BBQ. Candles were also provided for keeping the midges away whilst we were outside. We had the option of breakfast included but we were so full from our BBQ we didn't have anything. Luther however was given some lovely sausages, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend this property & hope to return again soon.
My partner and I have stayed at the Anchorage B&B twice now and on both occasions Anne and John were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms are clean, tidy, very comfortable and warm. The breakfast options are varied and provided in hearty quantities. They are truly dog friendly (rather than dog tolerant!) and the place feels like a home from home.
Anne is a fantastic host. Her hot English breakfast and coffee are the best we have enjoyed out of 5 Bnbs around Scotland. Great place to explore Islay from!
We stayed with Anne for a couple of nights on a cycling trip of the islands. Anne was a first class host and made us very welcome. The breakfast was delicious and Anne also supplied us with a packed lunch. I managed to leave a blouse behind in the room and Anne willingly posted it back without charge. It arrived back in Derbyshire within 24 hours!!
