Such a disappointing lunch. The hotel is lovely and in beautiful surroundings. I have eaten here for 23 years and never had a bad meal, but yesterday’s lunch was dreadful it tasted as though it had been bought in Iceland and served by school children. Rudding you really need to buck your ideas up so disappointed with you
The starter was really nice, the pudding was even nicer. However, when our Sunday dinner arrived the yorkshire pudding was flat compared to what we had seen coming out. That didn't matter too much we just got with it and started eating. Then we tried the beef... and noticed it had a bad smell. It was both our beef. We left the beef and spoken to Richard once he had taken the plates. We told him about the beef and asked for him to smell it. He said he would check with the chef. He came back and said he smelled it and it smelled fine. I asked did you smell ours on our plates. He said no he had thrown that in the bin already. I can only describe the beef as having a pungent smell. Like it was past its expiration date or left outside the fridges for hours on end or something. But it 100% didn't smell right. We had already paid upfront (voucher for 3 course sunday dinner) so was left disappointed and a bit fearful about possible food poisoning. Its only been a few hours so far but aren't happy about our experience
Beautiful food, 1st class service, beautiful surroundings. What more can you ask for!
This restaurant is amazing, now it’s becoming a routine going there on wedding anniversary and enjoy food, atmosphere , and great service. Very beautiful place with delicious food, no matter its a starter or main or dessert, everything is genuinely delicious and well presented. Staffs are very polite and friendly and do their best to make it a pleasant memory for customers. Have been there a couple of times and every time it’s been satisfactory. Its also a bounce that you can get different offers combined with amazing SPA! Definitely recommend it!
The food and staff were exceptional. I had the lamb rump which was cooked to perfection, with a pea puree which was to die for. My Partner's salmon dish was also impeccable.
The desserts were also fantastic. The chocolate delice was everything you'd expect in a premium dessert.
The staff were incredibly friendly and energetic. In particular, Nick helped to create a wonderful environment. The atmosphere was only enhanced by the amount of happy faces on the staff.
My only critique would be that the prices were more than you'd expect for the food. Although, this is likely to be expected as it is a hotel restaurant and due to the surroundings atmosphere.
All in all a wonderful evening. The staff deserve an incredible amount of credit. The only reason it is a 4 rather than a 5 is the price point.
Incredible. Food was 10/10. The staff are superb and very friendly. Absolutely no complaints will be back.
Used to be fabulous but the garish deco and the soso food need a massive and urgent overhaul. Is not terrible value for money, but could be so much nicer.
Slow drinks and fast food. Had to wait 15 minutes for pre dinner drinks and then had to wait to be shown to our table which was like a works canteen. Then we were ignored for 20 minutes and had to ask a waiter to take out drinks and food order.
Incredibly, the starters arrived within minutes even before the drinks we had ordered! We had to ask the food waiter to get our drinks.
Within 5 minutes of finishing our starters the main courses arrived. We had to ask for a break before ordering any dessert. We had been served two courses in 20 minutes.
This meal for two cost £172 and for those prices you expect better service and treatment. The whole experience was abysmal
