Came across Chinty's by chance on a visit Keswick. It's possibly the best local independent cafe experience I've ever had. It's not just the coffee, the food, the lovely owners or the quirky style. It's the the whole ethos and backstories that makes it truly memorable. Lucky, lucky Keswick.
A very welcoming café with delicious soup. I enjoyed playing the piano here with my friends Helen and Martyn Shakespeare who have played guitar/ percussion and sung here before (three of Five Loose Chippings!) Lovely atmosphere.
Chinty & Ian always greet you with a warm smile and friendly chatter. The food is fresh and delicious, especially the scones. An absolute must visit cafe in Keswick for visitors and locals alike. I always recommend my hotel guests to visit, and they never come away disappointed. You can even twinkle the keys of the piano if you like!
I went to Chintys today for the first time. The owners were so welcoming. The prices are reasonable. There are delicious food and crafts and newspapers to read, and even knitting to do! I loved it.
Had a lovely lunch here! The atmosphere was so relaxed and familiar and the food was so delicious. Would love to come back :)
Wonderful and welcoming cafe such that I ended up making a habit of visiting for a morning coffee most days I'm visiting Keswick. They're all about the fresh, local and ethically sourced produce.
The scones and cakes are amazing and the coffee is really well made. Slightly telling is just how popular it is with the locals. You get the impression they owners know most of the people in the cafe.
Speaking of locals, if you get there at the right time, one of the locals may well be paying the piano. If he isn't there, as I understand it, pianists are welcome to jump in his seat. So I've heard anyway. I've yet to see it happen.
One thing to be aware of is that they're a cash only place so make sure you visit one of the dwindling Keswick cash machines before you wander in.
Highly recommended for a tea/coffee and cake/scone. I've not had a meal there but from what I've seen, they look great.
Delightful cash only cafe. Fantastic personable service and a great basket of savory goods and coffee on offer
Absolutely delightful place with locally sourced and made food, probably very reasonably describing it as the "friendliest Cafe in Keswick."
Blown away by the gentle atmosphere and wholesome connection; by the end of lunch, Ian knew most of the names of our party of 12. Food was delicious. Recommended.
