Had a small cod and chips, with curry sauce and plain jumbo sausage.
The batter was unbelievably soggy, not one bit of crunch in it.
Curry sauce is not the sauce you would expect of a chip shop curry, more of a sauce you would make a madras with. Not meant for chips.
Sausage was good, don’t really know how you would get a sausage wrong.
However if you can’t get fish right then you can’t call yourself a “fish bar”

The best fish and chips we have had in a long time. The staff were fantastic. They were extremely busy, and there was a wait on our food(totally worth the wait), but the staff kept apologising for the wait, which wasn't their fault they were busy and maybe short staffed. Can't wait to return to Cheddar again and be able to eat here once more.
We had excellent fish and chips fantastic dry batter not swimming in grease. The young man behind the counter gave us his full attention. Sorry we are not local to be able to come back for more. If you order a large proportion you can be sure to get one. The cod was cooked to perfection. Both staff behind counter and fryer were there to give that little bit extra. Thanks to both of you.

Had a super lunch at Cheddar fish bar today and sat in restaurant. Jordan could not have been more friendly and efficient. It was great fish and chips and service with a smile. We will be back thank you.
A classic chippy in the heart of Cheddar Gorge. Clean as a whistle, tidy toilets, and a goodly number of well-spaced tables in a well-lit dining area. Best of all, the food and service are terrific. Generous portions and a kind and efficient staff make it a great spot for a quick stop to assuage your hunger after a hike or long drive.
The fish is fantastic. Sat outside. Went on our bike, best curry sauce ever.
Just had the best fish and chips! The service was excellent, and the fish was perfectly crispy. Definitely recommend trying it out!
