Dog friendly, staff are lovely. Chilled and relaxed lunch. We were slightly early for lunch at 12 but she said wouldn't be a problem. Lovely china and loose tea leaves. Definitely stop by again, few car park spaces outside. Ideal for pulling in and well earned rest from our journey
First time visit whilst having a wee walk through Birnam, its The Post Office, wee shop and the tea room. Very busy inside and outside on a sunny autumn morning, very popular with locals, cyclists and visitors like us. Friendly welcome from staff, order taken, 2 coffee's a cheese and ham toastie and a cheese and ham panini, one with crips the other with a tasty coleslaw and salad. We sat outside, its a luvly wee place, to sit at and njoy your food etc. We njoyed tasty cappuccinos with a frothy chocolate topping and our sandwiches. Enjoyed our visit, would recommend a visit if visiting the area. Birnam is a luvly wee place to visit, Beatrix Potter Exhibition, a luvly walk to visit the Birnam Oak, cross the Dunkeld Bridge over the River Tay beautiful views. :)
Stopped in for a quick bite while road tripping. The coffee was good, and the croissant sandwich was stuffed full of delicious cheese! The shop has cute little gifts, too. Great little place to stop if you're in the area!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean and tidy. Wonderful outside sitting area. Table service. Good menu. The coffee is okay. Freshly made foods. From Scottish breakfast to scrambled egg with toast and smoked salmon,.. lots lots more to choose. The BBC panini is my personal guilty pleasure. And what I like the most is that you get what you pay for. Good value and quality for your money. And I almost forgot to mention the homemade cakes and scones. Unfortunately only 3stars for Atmosphere because it is mostly very busy and when everybody is talking it feels like standing at a trainstation at rush hour. So not for people with sensitive hearing. But that is really the only negative about this place. Give it a go and share your experience with us all.
The food was lovely and the tea was beautifully presented. But it took a little while to get served, after being asked to take a table.
What an absolute gem of a cafe, after a 200 mile wet and cold motorcycle ride from the North East of England on our way to Inverness this was a star find. Good food, amazing staff, highly recommended ???? ignore the 1 star review someone has given this place, you can just imagine that cheery person is the life and soul of a party ???? brilliant little cafe and staff ????
Birnam isn't worth a visit. There isn’t much to see. The village is unwelcoming to tourists.
In early November, off season, I went to Birnam. Coming off the train I went to the Chattan Tea Room. There weren’t many customers. Three other tables were occupied. The young waitress just stood there. She saw me but did not come to take my order. After a long wait I went up to the counter. The manager was unpleasant, but she took my order.
The whole day trip was overshadowed by this unpleasant experience.
Fantastic breakfast, very friendly staff and a proper community feel. Dog friendly and brilliant portion sizes if you are looking for a good feed ????????
