Absolutely fantastic food and people.
I wanted to make some mince pies for my son so I asked how them how they make their mince pies, the baker at Charnocks could not have been more helpful and informative. 11/10 absolutely fabulous.
First time visit good pies and Cornish pasties probably can't call them Cornish pasties now because the world's gone mad will visit again
I visited Charnocks a few days ago wanting to buy scones with jam and cream on. There were only plain scones on display so the lovely man in the shop said he would see what he could do if he had any cream left. He made them up with loads of jam and cream and they were gorgeous, I won't be buying my bakery anywhere else in future. This is the personal service you get if you shop local and their vanilla slices are delicious too!
Best breadcakes in Kirklees. And their teacakes are delicious. All baked on-site. They have breadcakes from tiny to family size.
Tried a spam and egg sandwich and that was great too.
You can't go wrong, they have all the old school cakes too.
