Lovely village pub with traditional atmosphere and olde-world feel.
We pre booked but arrived an hour and a half before meal service time. We also brought two extra people in our party which was not a problem for the hosts. We were made to feel welcome and enjoyed drinks in the restaurant area.
Menu was very good. A nice selection of dishes including vegetarian.
There were 2 voices of pie, and two of us chose the steak and ale which were fantastic. Vegetables cooked perfectly and a selection 4 different vegetables were served.
Everyone enjoyed their meals and we would recommend this wonderful pub to anyone who is visiting the area.
Amazing summer outdoor space for dogs and families!
My family made a stop here for lunch today. 1 dog, 2 kids, and 4 adults.
The menu was great for everyone, vegetarians included. Everything was a great size and really tasty. The pricing was good for the group of us.
It was a beautiful day so we sat outside under sun umbrellas and really enjoyed the beautiful environment.
I'd recommend this venue for any size group on a sunny day, but probably call ahead if it's a cooler day and you need to be inside, where you can enjoy the charm of an old English pub location.
Would I go back?
Yes.
If you're in the area, and get a chance, choose this venue for a relaxing meal and a drink.
Small but lovely pub, views in the garden at the back are great, staff are really friendly and lovely location in general. Will definitely come back to eat here, as we just turned in for a pint today.
Had a delicious meal with a large group.
Good selection on menu. Generous portions. Staff very attentive.
A wonderful lunch here today. Friendly, efficient service. The food was excellent, the fish was outstanding, fresh and beautifully prepared.
Good menu good food. Worth a visit for lunch or dinner. Great garden but unfortunately wrong time of year to use.
Had a rushed lunch as arrived with 15 mins before the kitchen closed. Rather than make us feel it was ok as it was still within their time frame for surving, they made it feel like an inconvenience.
However, the food was nice, but the portions were small and over priced. A small bowl of chips (I mean like a small pot) cost £4. More than London prices.
That said, the views from the garden were fabulous and it is well maintained. It was a lovely place to settle and rest up for a drink, regardless of the food prices. I would recommend it on a sunny afternoon.
Delightful country pub in a quintessential English village. Garden has great views. Ample parking. Usual pub menu with some innovative additions - the goats cheese salad starter was excellent, ditto the crayfish tail salad main. Friendly staff and good value for money.
