Brilliant little cafe to visit and get a good plate of food. We had our dog so straight away we noticed the dog friendly signs and it appealed to us. The cafe inside isn't big but there's plenty of room . The staff were really friendly and came over and gave our wee puppy some water and treats. The food itself was fresh and well worth it. I got the seafood pie which was excellent and my wife and daughter got the Seafood chowder where they said it was well worth getting. My 6yrs old son got fish fingers , peas and chip's and he ate the lot. Will definitely be back next time i am in portree.
My absolute favorite restaurant I've been to in all of Scotland. Fun, witty signs up. Friendly staff. Delicious food. I'd go again and I recommend every visitor of Portree come to this gem.
Great food and great ambience. Friendly and helpful staff. Had my first Haggis here, tasted alot like pig's kidneys. Gotta recommend the mackerel and fish soup, simply scrumptious.
Took my hubby and toddler grandson for lunch we loved the food well hubby wasn't so keen on vegetarian burger to full spices draw back they had no meat burgers the place was really busy on plus side you can take ur dog in as long as it behaves
I had a "3 Bean Vegetable Chili + Rice" and it was good, but really not exceptional. My friend had dessert, and the cake was in my opinion pretty disappointing. However the staff was friendly and I loved reading the signs inside the restaurant.
Waitress rolled her eyes at us twice. We were obviously bothering her. Food was dry and seemed old. One dish was not recognizable. Too expensive for what you get. Go elsewhere if you want good food for the money.
Very unwelcoming and unfriendly. Looks nice from the outside, but atmosphere is uncomfortable. We just wanted to have drinks and had to share a table with other tourists even though the café was almost empty and then suddenly closed half an hour later. They have some signs saying what THEY expect from a customer, e.g. patience, mininum spend etc.
Welcome: zero. Food: unmarkable.
The location is pretty central, but a little bit out-of-the-way, which we preferred for being more quiet.
We had soup and toast: FLAVOURLESS, with TOO MUCH BREAD (VERSUS TOO LITTLE STUFFING), DEPRESSING… like the PLACE itself, FULL OF JUNK, and without any taste in harmonizing furniture with decorations.
Our WAITRESS looked very DISTRACTED AND LISTLESS (despite only three tables were busy at the moment), while the OWNER (supposedly the man sitting alone close to the cash register) seemed really PISSY (contrary of welcoming)…!
Value for money (all considered): too much.
