The Castlehill Club is the perfect triple decker sandwich to fill you up, after a lengthy tour around the Edinburgh Castle. I was too full to eat the chips, but I believe they were good too. Delicious!
An interesting experience. Repeated my order twice so that nothing was misheard. Latte instead of a cappuccino - oh well. 20 minutes later, my vegetarian sausage and egg bap becomes an ambiguously meaty sausage bap - no egg in sight. Speaking of eggs, my girlfriend’s order comes 10 minutes later, delivered by a young man wearing a backpack with a skateboard attached, boasting ‘he doesn’t even work here’ - odd! From the photo you’ll see this scrambled egg on toast was in fact mushy egg on bread, topped off with a side of *one* slice of cucumber and *one* slice of tomato. Minimalism, I guess. Came here for the modest prices. Realised they were actually an unfair reflection of the food and service ???? jokes on us I guess. Staff were friendly, for what it’s worth
The only cafe that is not organised and under staff . However the staff still have the positive attitude and service to go through it despite being doing everything alone
Great cafe food that’s filling and cheap. Staff are all lovely and friendly. The Castlehill club was great!
If you come here expecting 5-star restaurant quality food at this price… someone needs to explain to you what a cafe is.
Took over 40 minutes to receive our food. The custom panini had all the wrong ingredients and the salad wasn't as described at all. Plus the eggs were GREEN. The fish fingers kids meal was ok, but it wasn't good quality.
Food was bland and the chicken was tough. Rude but not disrespectful staff. Great view though!
I only gave the food 1 star because there wasn’t a lower option. Went with my parents and all 3 of us had the breakfast - it took 35 minutes to arrive despite us being the only customers having food (was another couple in there just having coffee).
Food was over cooked, like chewing leather. Except the square sausage which was both over cooked yet undercooked at the same time. A real skill to pull that off.
All 3 of us spent the night running to the bathroom. If you go here, stick to coffee and ignore the food.
Staff are friendly but they really need to hire someone with an actual qualification in food preparation.
The place is very nice and also the service is very kind, I tasted Full Scottish Breakfast and it was delicious.
