I write this to make the community aware of a situation I’ve experienced with castle motors of Bolsover. Over Two weeks ago the AA recommended me to drop my car off at castle motors being it’s close proximity to my house. This was at 1am in the morning so I couldn’t ask them if they would accept it. The following day I called to ask if they could accept it as it was totally not drivable to which they replied we are extremely busy so we won’t get chance to look at it until next week. Which I totally respect and understand. The week had passed and I called to ask if they had managed to look at it yet or at very least give my a rough estimate on price. He replied I’ll try in the next few days. The next few days passed and I rang for a update and was informed yes we will take a look at it ok Saturday. After two weeks of being informed on countless occasions he would look at it, the very least give my a price I decided to get the AA to reposition it to another local garage as in my opinion, I just can’t trust what they say anymore. When I picked the keys up I was offered no apology whatsoever. The inconvenience and cost this has caused me by not having a car for two weeks is ridiculous when he could have just said a simple no and I could have moved it somewhere where I could have completed it by now is frustrating. Now I’m sure he has many satisfied customers and really hope this is a isolated incident but I would hate someone to go through what has happened to me and would absolutely not recommend this garage.

This is the worst garage I have ever seen, my little Kia rio was having a bit of gear trouble so I took it too castle garage for repair in June 2023, and there it sat first it was the linkage then it was the clutch I was quoted £600, I told Mark to do the job, went up 2 weeks later and marks son was there and said it was a cable this was in July 2023, since then it has sat and not moved, I went into the garage every 2 weeks until January 10th 2024 and told Mark that I wanted the car sorted by the following Friday as he'd had the car for 7 months he said that he couldn't move the car as the brakes had ceased and he wasn't going to do them as it was too cold then he said that he didn't want to work on my car and to get it off this premises, so I booked a recovery truck and moved it to a reputable garage, all the seats are mouldy there's a scratch on the back door the battery is completely flat this little car was in excellent condition when this garage got it so I certainly wouldn't recommend this establishment should you need anything other than an MOT or the simplest of repairs, 7 long months with excuses and promises that it'll be done the following week, absolutely diabolical place. I took the car to dck&l autos and the car was fixed in less than 24 hours, a simple cable adjustment was what had caused the problem, that says it all.
Castle MOT had my car for 6 weeks. I was told it needed a new ECU and was recovered to Storforth Lane trading estate. They've found no faults with the cars electrics. This means I have to pay to get my car recovered back home. DON'T TRUST CASTLE, they had my car for all that time and removed the facia exposing a rats nest of wires. I will not be using them again
Excellent and friendly service every time I take my vehicle for it's MOT
Used this week for the first time. Identified my problem quickly and squeezed me in to fix it just as quick and fitted me in around my work.
Excellent service, value for money and pleasant as well. You can't ask for anymore.
First time taking car for its MOT at this garage. Staff were very polite and approachable. The MOT and follow up call were carried out promptly. Absolutely recommend this garage. Superb!
Great service, very reliable and friendly. They have helped me numerous times. Best of all they are honest in telling you what the issue is without trying to charge you for non-existent issues like some garages do. I highly recommend.
