This place was amazing!! Breakfast was awesome, very clean and appropriately decorated. Watching the sunset from the battlements was a great way to end the evening. We stayed in the Lairds room and it is huge!! If you are looking to stay in a castle that actually resembles a castle on the inside this is the place!
Atmosphere / Location – What an excellent location an atmosphere. Why stay in the city when a castle is so close? Very quaint and interesting B&B in Gourock. My wife and two older children only stayed the night and wish that we could have stayed in the area longer as it looked like there was plenty to do.
Rooms - The rooms are very clean and well kept. Beds were very comfortable. We had everything we needed for our stay.
Bath room - The bath room was also very clean. Again, everything that we needed was provided in ample supply for our stay.
Breakfast – Breakfast was very tasty and none of us left hungry.
Host / Amenities / Service – Your hosts have done a fantastic job furnishing this historic building. They are very friendly and accommodating, even for ‘late arriving’ guests. We had a fabulous time and highly recommend staying at Castle Levan.
Nice little B&B, the castle was renovated a number of years ago and is really cool. My wife and I stayed in the larger room with the private bathroom. The owner provided a great breakfast and was very helpful with information about local attractions. Wish we had another day or two to stay, we never got a chance to view the private garden area outside the castle. I would certainly recommend this B&B and would come back again.
If you are looking for somewhere quirky and out of the ordinary to stay then Castle Levan should be on your list. We were welcomed by Kim who showed us around the castle and took us up to the battlements stunning views from there. Our bedroom was stunning and very gothic had a great sleep, gardens are on different levels complete with a waterfall and outside conservatory.
Breakfast was beautifully presented and there was plenty of choice and Kim was a fantastic host, I hope to return as soon as possible it was magical.
Beautiful castle, gorgeous views and wonderful atmosphere — and it's near the city (Edinburgh)! Scotland is such a great place. While I love England, Scotland beats it hands down in views and entertainment. And the people are always friendly. This B&B awakens one's imagination. So many story possibilities! From a foreigner visiting an old castle and encountering a brooding man who may or may not be real, to a mysterious boarding school with a questionable past — the possibilities are endless. As for the real world, the WiFi could use some improvement, but most hotels and B&Bs have this problem. You'll love it!
An absolute jewel! Castle Levan o erlooks the Firth of Clue with a beautiful use of Holy Loch, Dunoon, and the Highlands of in the distance. The owner has restored the castle and the rooms are breathtaking. We stayed in the Laird's Chambers and felt like royalty. The Laird's Bathroom was luxurious a new an absolute stunner. The attention to detail makes the entire experience magical. Breakfast to order was very good and is served in the restored dininvnhall. Stone floors and painted timber ceiling transforms one back to the 1500's. I can't say enough about the place, just spend a night or weekend and you'll have wonderful memories!
Excellent atmosphere and lovely hosts. The whole castle has a great vibe and the breakfast was delicious.
I spent an evening in the conservatory with my partner enjoying wine and the waterfall and it was a greatly romantic experience.

When i first arrived i was pleased to see a madsage chair and a coffe mashine in our own private lounge. I then whent through to my room and saw an electronic fire and a tv. I enjoyed my stay very muh the food was great. One of the best things about the castle was the decorations. I stayed for three day and found new decorations every day all castle themed. The owners were very freindly and would always give us good sugestions on what to do every morning. Most of my eavning i spent in the conservtry that over looked a stream and a water fall I played games with my family. And again i thank you kim for your hospitallity. Another hing i liked was that kim was happy to show us around and give us some history of the place.
