Forest walks and river gorge. Good to see in high water. River good to swim in summer. Path quite eroded and flooded in places so not really wheelchair-accessible. Lovely trees. Saw a red squirrel today.
Lovely walk up the river , lots of historical information about different areas along the way , and a beautifully clear river , which at this time was incredibly low , but at height is something else to behold .
Over the last few days the rain has turned the Leap into a torrent very impressive????????????
A beautiful spot along the river Ericht. The walk along the river offers a lot of beautiful nature and it's typically fairly easy to see dippers flying around, diving and sitting on the rocks and river banks.
Nice walk from the town bridge. Circular route using a wooden bridge upstream. It's good walk if you just fancy 40 minutes of peace and quiet, along a wooded riverside trail. Otherwise there's a car park on the other side, then short 5 minute walk... Using the same wooden bridge. Pleasant.
Nice walk, beautiful rapids, the only downside was the viewing platform, it isn't in the greatest spot, could do with another one over the river. I took a different path for a better view, if you go over the bridge toward the mill, follow the path 100 yards, you'll see a set of stairs on the left, go down there and follow the path to the right until the opening, you can get down on the rocks there for a better view. Obviously, be careful!!
Absolutely beautiful walk, great for kids and dogs and folk of all ages. The River Ericht is great to follow up to the small weir and there is lots to see. There is a children's playground adjacent to a small car park and bins along the main route.
There are several ways you can go round if you want to do a loop to extend the walk, with options to scramble down to the water's edge and the gorge. The initial part of the walk has a couple of view points with information boards, which is great.
We've been lots of times since restrictions lifted and there's always something new to see in the surrounding woodland. Today we foraged wild garlic and the weather was kind!
Lots of pokestops too ????
Lovely gentle walk through the woods along side the river Ericht. Well maintained path and viewing platforms: a salmon leap; Cargill's Leap; and on up to a handful of disused water mills. Beautiful.
