Would love to tell you how good it was , but at 8:30 pm it was closed! Told to use the only coffee machine , but that was out of order. Both sets of toilets were also closed. After 10 hours of driving, ample staff to sell me alcohol, ciggies and chocolate, but no one here to sell us much needed coffee ???? As a plus , all the staff were very nice and polite ????
Nice place to stay while waiting for the next ferry, tasty soup and absolutely lovely service. Thank you so much, Yoann.
Visited on a Sunday, cafe doesn't open until 9am although there was quite a few people sat in the cafe, he did open 10 minutes early. Euro 3.25 for a hot drink which is quite steep and a muffin or sweet cake is euro 4.25, a sandwich is euro 6.45. Very overpriced but as there is nothing else here that's the price you have to pay.
Our boat got CANCELLED and now we are stuck here for another 2 HOURS even though we were late because we had to wait 3 HOURS for boarder patrol. Anyways I have no idea how the food here is because I didn't try any because it's expensive. Gave it 5 stars because I'm at a table with an emo and a ginger and I have very conflicted feelings about this but I like them. Anyways, did you know that in 1932 Australia faught a war against emus??? They attempted it twice and still lost. There was a delay (sound familiar??) due to rain, the emus were too far out of range (much like our boat), the guns jammed and they crashed a truck after hitting emu. Did you know that emus are actually very fast? Unlike boarder patrol. Anyways, I'm sure this place is great, the view sure is nice, and if anyone has read to this point I am both sorry for wasting your time as impressed you bothered to read this so thank you, and maybe research the Emu War because it's a fun thing to talk about at parties, if you go to any that is, I sure don't, so maybe it isn't a fun fact at all.
Though maybe it is
Have a nice day!!!!
As usual the cafe was shut and as usual the facilities at Calais Port were pathetic. It astonishes me at the French attitude to people who travel to and from their country, beautifully set up to take your money for overpriced perfume and alcoholic products but nothing to make the travellers journey more comfortable. Impossible to get a fresh cup of tea or coffee or a snack. You really should be ashamed.
Arrived at 7pm on a Saturday. Absolutely nothing available to eat whatsoever. And I mean nothing. What's the point? If it was midnight I would understand, if there was a limited choice, fair enough I suppose. But nothing?
