This is my first visit to the restaurant, I visited here with my friend, I took her for afternoon tea for her birthday.
We also took her little one with us.
Afternoon tea was booked and paid in advance, As this s the requirement for afternoon tea.
The staff where welcoming upon arrival, and extremely polite, the restaurant was warm cosy and clean, you could also smell the food cooking.
We were seated to our reserved table, the waiter came to our table and gave us menus, so we could select drinks.
My friend ordered a latte, I just had tea.
The waiter took our menus away, the lady in the restaurant fetched another menu, to order little ones food from.
She had chicken nuggets and potato tots, when her food came out I was shocked by the quality, freshly made food, not processed like you get elsewhere.
Our afternoon tea was big, I was super happy that there was more savory available on it, so many places do too much sweet.
The afternoon tea consisted of sandwiches, tuna cucumber, tuna mayo, chicken with mayo.
Vegetable quiche, mini pasty, Yummy soup.
Also a little pot of gherkins and cheese so much better than the mundane side salad.
On the next tier where cakes, that consisted of brownie, Victoria sponge, I think trifle although taste was a mix of trifle and eton mess.
Top tier had scones , 1 plain 1 fruit, jam, and cream for each one.
The food was tasty and very filling, the brownie was lush and tasted like chocolate ganache. The scone was quite savory and you could taste the salt in it, I only add a little cream, and not jam as I don't like it on scones really, but that's just a preference.
I liked everything I ate apart from the quiche, again that's just preference my friend enjoyed here's too.
All together the cost was about £41.00.
The afternoon teas are, £14.95 each.
I would definitely visit again in the future.
The staff are lovely and the food is quality.
This restaurant is worth a visit.
Called in just by chance midweek and asked if there was availability for 3 adults and 2 children and a dog ???? we were shown to the dog friendly area and seated straight away. The staff were friendly and helpful. The tables were very clean and inviting. The menu was sufficiently varied and the service was excellent. Food arrived in good time and was plentiful. The hot food was good and hot. The side dishes were very generous too. All the meals were nicely served and attractive in appearance. Would definitely recommend and we will go back again and again I'm sure ????
Used this place a few time and it's always been ok, However 25/4/24
My son and I call in around lunch, he had the philly steak sandwich which was tasty but meat was not rested so there was litrally a pool of juices on the plate and running out of it, but, it was ok.
I had the sausage swirl in a bun and apple sause with onion rings instesd of chips. OMG it was horrible, disgusting, the chef hadn't cooked the sausage properly, it was cooked through, but it was cooked as if it had been boiled, now a natural casing is intestine and if its not cooked in the right way its pale, insipid and chewy like elastic and this was all of that just horrid.
I told the waitress(who was very nice btw) and she said that's disgusting and took it for another go.
And guess what, it came back just the same disgusting, a bit like the chef was like "yeah right ill give it 2 seconds in a pan and there will be no come back. No! Not on! And thats why im reviewing! I showed the waitress again and I stretched it to display the elasticity of it and she was like omg that's terrible and removed it while apologising.
She returned asking if I wanted anything but I was past it at that point. (I swaped chips for the onion rings because they were usually good these were poor also on this day, greesy and rushed).
Furthermore, I then recalled going in on a few shoot breakfasts, everyone was saying the sausages were cooked wrong and skin was horrible and removing the inner to just eat that.
Get the chef some retraining or a new one that meets the quality of waiting staff and your resteraunt, imo.
Dog friendly seating area for having a drink, a couple of unruly pups made for a laugh. A lovely clean and well lit restaurant with very tasty food. Close to home, so will be back on a regular basis. The food was fresh, tasty, and has very good value. Staff were friendly and answered dietary questions when asked as my friend has a gluten intolerance, Slimming World-friendly menu available, so another bonus for those who need it. I will be back very soon it was a lovely meal out. .
Beautiful place. Food was amazing - compliments for chefs! :)
Great service , well done Josh and Amy ! :)
Can't be bad as we actually planned to go here for lunch as we enjoyed our first visit to eat so much.
