Been dining here for over 10 years and one thing you can’t knock is the consistency.
Prices are extremely reasonable and the quality of the food is excellent. Good Italian food can be hard to master, but they do it right here.
Always a wonderful meal and the staff are lovely - would recommend!
Arrived around 6.30pm on a Friday night and was able to get a table. Great choices on the menu and a few additional Specials. Loved that they offered smaller plates of pasta which you could have as a starter course which whilst you see in Italy isn't common place in UK based restaurants.
Good choice of drinks. The house white was easy drinking. Water brought to the table as standard, I like that.
The pasta Picante was nice and spicy with the recommended pasta of tagliatelle. Husbands Carbonara went down well.
We both opted for the special pizza that had spicy Italian sausage and dolcie latte cheese. A white based pizza (no tomato sauce) Good pizza base and the lightly flavoured creamy blue cheese gave it moisture. The sausage wasn't very spicy but was still tasty.
The home made canoli were small and delicious particularly the pistachio and lemon ones.
Great service. Bubbly personality and smiles greeted us. The home made limoncello was excellent and very drinkable.
A lovely evening.
We had a wonderful dinner here - popped in before seeing a film across the road - quick service, took out dietary requirements into account with no issues, and the most delicious Italian food I've eaten outside of Italy! We had the artichoke and buffalo mozzarella to start - so fresh! The cannelloni and risotto were excellent, and the pannacotta was also great! Would highly recommend stopping by if you're in Alnwick.
Beautifully cooked food, friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Well priced. What more could you ask for?
Great pizzas ! Go for the spicy ones, they are the best. Great sourdough crusts, cooked perfectly and not soggy. The toppings were very tasty. The pizzas arrived hot and the wait staff were attentive and efficient.
Called in, winging it really, during an impromptu visit to Alnwick.
At first then lady was unsure of space, so we said it was fine we were just pushing our luck. She asked if we would mind being in the window, of course not. So we were in.
We shared a potato skin starter which was amazing and enough for two.
Then the main with delicious sea food and a pasta of choice.
A glass of house red and a very reasonable £42 later we couldn't have been happier.
The staff were sweet and kind and even had a giggle with us.
We were served promptly enough that we could go and try to get into the play showing over the road at the playhouse.
This is a try your luck kind of place as it is very busy and popular, but if you can get in, it's worthwhile in my opinion.
We were very lucky to get a table early on Saturday evening when we arrived in Alnwick. The staff were friendly and helpful, explaining the food and drinks menu. The house red wine is very good quality, and a good selection of quality bottled beer. We had meatballs in tomato sauce with a side of fresh tomato garlic bread. It was served piping hot and truly delicious. Meatballs being tender and flavoursome, the sauce was fresh and tasty. I can honestly say it was the best Italian experience I have had for a long time. Having the added bonus of being very reasonable priced. I would have definitely returned to sample more of the menu and fabulous hospitality before travelling home on Sunday if they had been open. Thank you Caffè Tirreno.
Alnwick Castle was our the only destiny here in this area. But after spending several hours on castle grounds we decided to find a place for eat in town. Caffe Tirreno located close to castle seemed to be a proper restaurant.
And really it was. Delicious spaghetti Carbonara, calzone and pizza that we ordered were delicious and perfect service let us feel very special.. Definitely we will come back to taste other delicacy of Italian cuisine
