We went to have breakfast here today. We have been to this cafe a few times over the 2 years as we are visiting Ripon and it has been pleasing everytime.
Our cappuccinos were brilliant, as they should be with enough foam to milk ratio and they were, we were also asked how strong we liked our coffee which is a huge plus so thank you.
My partner was really craving a cheese toastie from here as that's what he had last year at breakfast in our last visit to Ripon. Now I know menus change over time and that is understandable and instead settled on a bacon sandwich.
This was no problem, but I just thought the response he received was a tad abrupt. We aren't overly sensitive to knock down a star for this but I just thought we'd mention as we were customers in the past and that the rest of the service today was brilliant.
I had poached eggs on avocado toast, and I really enjoyed it. I think the chef came out and asked me if I enjoyed it, and I did tell him yes. However I'm quite shy so I couldn't say exactly how much I loved it so instead I am going to leave a good review for you here and for making our visit to Ripon lovely.
We will continue to visit for good when we visit Ripon as it always makes our day.

Great value for money and a lovely atmosphere. Very reasonable price. I had the cheese and red onion on toast and it was delicious. Hubby had a full English. We had a pot of tea for 2
Poached eggs came exactly as ordered. Friend had a full English which looked really good and which he said was delicious. Nice big pot of tea and we were set for the day. Service was good.

Arrived 2.06pm, 4 of us in our party, looking for a good eaterie for a bit of late lunch. Checked before entering to make sure we weren't late for food service. Got settled down with menu's ready to order with anticipation of someting tasty, a waiteress approached with pen and pad in hand, only to be told 'Sorry NOT serving food as we are closing early today'. Thats fine and dandy understandable circumstances beyond their control etc.... It was the fact that the waitresses face could have cracked stone on the spot when our group stated we didn't want to stay and order any drinks....then marched she off. Bad customer service, a smile costs nothing.
A lovely warm welcome, only popped in for coffee what a warm cosy place havnt been before made to feel welcome will be back again ????
Great coffee and staff. Good teacakes but menu is expensive and no lesser options.
Nice decor / spotlessly clean , comfy seating . Food overall was ok - tuna melt toasty tasted lovely but was soggy rather than crispy , and not very hot . AVOID the poached egg , rock hard sadly !!! Coffees were nice . Staff were nice other than the young lady needs to engage with customers !! ???? Doggy friendly which is always a bonus ….
