Superb little cafe with an excellent choice of bakes and superlative coffee.
This cafe is a gem! Some really interesting bakes (cardamom and orange!!) and fantastic coffee. Really nice outdoor seating too.
Highly recommend to any lovers of coffee or pastries!
Café Pedlar is a small hidden gem bakery on the lively lower marsh street. It usually is always busy and full, but I managed to visit early in the morning and found a seat inside.
I ordered a latte and a savory croissant with ham and cheese, both were delicious, but a bit on the pricier side (£9.52)
A cosy place to enjoy your morning coffee, but also good for takeaway. Loved the background playlist, which added to the easy going atmosphere.
This little gem is pricy but their selection of pastries are honestly to die for! They always have something a bit different on offer and they do an NHS staff discount which is a billy bonus! The coffee is delicious but really I only ever come here to get a trusted cardamon/cinnamon bun or whatever special they have and occasionally a loaf of sourdough. Their pastries are so crisp and flakey and even though it’s small it’s always packed with people and a nice ‘trendy’ cafe vibe. The staff are all super friendly and always happy to explain what delicious delights they have if they are things you aren’t quite familiar with. This time I bought a peanut butter filled, chocolate topped delight! It was amazing ???? I hope they will have it again sometime soon!
The look of this place is amazing. It has a rustic feel to it that is super cool. The coffee was really good. The chocolate croissant had almost no chocolate in it though????
The meat pie and quiche was delicious. Unfortunately they only have an electric grill to heat it up so it might be better to take home and warm yourself.
Absolutely amazing bakery. Bought three sourdough loaves and they taste amazing —the best sourdough I’ve tasted in my life! So much so that brought three to NYC. I’ve tried lots of sourdough in NYC, SF, and LA and the ones from this bakery top them all. I recommend the sourdough toast with egg and a mocha (more on the dark chocolate side which I love) for those eating at the cafe.
I went because the sourdough photos online looked nice, but it wasn’t as aromatic as what a good sourdough would be. It was pretty plain in my opinion. The chutney and pickles were okay. The lady at the counter was very kind though; that’s a solid plus.
The pastries they are selling are delicious! They have both the classics and some more creative ones too. The hazelnut pastry did it for me. So good. Nice coffee too. The fact that the pastries are so close to the floor is a bit alarming though. Recommended!
Brilliant cafe! Beautiful baked goods and amazing coffee. Eggs on toast too! ????
