Café Lavender is a haven for coffee and cake lovers alike.
Having a wee blether with a friend or just reflecting about life itself, the cafe is in the perfect setting to simply forget time, and enjoy cake to get carried away.
The staff is always friendly, the bread and cakes are amazing.
First time here and very disappointed ! Not only is the menu quite limited but portion size does not equal the prices that were charged. The cheese sandwich had one slice of cheese which filled the size of the little sandwich, a little piece of lettuce and very thin slices of gherkin and horse radish. The only saving grace was the cafetiere of coffee was about average price. Staff were polite but unfortunately I cannot recommend this establishment
Everything about this cafe is enjoyable. The cakes are sublime and true to german recipe. The staff are chatty with a smile and could not do any more for you. The setting in an old manse is beautiful. The set up on a nice day is outside the owner has put up gazebos and patio heaters for the changeable weather. The garden setting is sublime with flowers galore.
They have adapted well to the current situation and have done it with a smile. Their approach is impeccable putting all at ease. Looking forward to staying at the attached cawdor house b&b operated by the same owners.
Amazing cafe with delicious food, who doesn't like bratwurst in a bun, beer and topped off by black forest cake?? One of our best experiences in NE Scotland, and reasonably priced.
Authentic German food and the owners are really lovely, ended up speaking to Andreas for 30 mins.
Lovely cafe eith gorgeous food. Wish we had gone more as only managed once.
Went after heard how nice it was. The staff met you at thd door and showed us to a table. We went through to another room to look at cakes. We made our choice and ordered our coffee. Service was good the cake delicious however the coffee could have been hotter. Enjoyable afternoon.
It's super-nice to sit by the flowers and take a coffee and cake (or bratwurst!). I think we've done it at least once a week for the last 2 months. My 10-month old daughter has probably eaten more lavender flowers than I should admit to. I think it's a real bonus to Nairn that young folks are making such an effort to build such lovely businesses like these (and there are a few of them recently)!
We visited the cafe around 4 months ago on a trip up from Newcastle upon Tyne, and the coffee was so good that I bought a 1kg bag to take home. Right now, I'm just looking up the cafe name to recommend it to a colleague in Inverness. Would love to revisit in the future (also need to buy another bag to take home!).
