Easy to find and enter. Doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Lots of wonderful walks near by. And one can visit the castle ruins and walk along the board walk.
It took so long to go online and fill out the form etc just to pay £1.50 to park for two hours. Why can't you have a contactless pay machine there :(
Fascinating place, a Roman port. The landside wall on 3 sides is standing. The 4th side is the docks where you can see signs of the port
Nice walk round the old Roman wall. Makes a good dog walk.
Nice place to have a walk around especially with your dogs , lots of various walk paths surrounding it too,
Car parking for visits to nearby Roman Fort and St Peter and Paul Church. Car park gates locked after 6pm but attraction can be accessed from footpaths and scenic Riverside boardwalk. Mostly flat but access may be limited nearer Riverside slope area. Although an English Heritage site there are no facilities beyond basic signage but is well worth the visit. Suitable for dog walkers and bins dotted about.
Such a disappointment, we were looking forward to visiting Burgh Castle whilst in the area on holiday. Drove in to the car park, saw it required a parking app and drove straight out again...
Very good couple of hours walking the circular route around the castle and checking out the wildlife too
