Bucknall Pharmacy is amazing. The text message service is absolutely first class. I never have to wait more than a day for my Prescription order to be ready. The staff are always happy, smiling and extra helpful and polite. Very professional team here ???? Wish I could give 100 star rating!!
Very impressed with Bucknall Pharmacy . The staff are so knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Well done
Ordered my tablets 2 days prior to go and collect them, went in the morning to collect and was told I would have to wait. I informed the chemist that I needed them that day as I was on holiday, so I was told I would get a text when I could go a receive them. I didn’t get the text until 2 minutes before they closed. They also told me I was lying about when I had ordered my tablets - ridiculous. Had to go a week without my tablets. Will always use boots in Bentilee from now on - so much better!
Moved from boots bentilee to this pharmacy , can't believe how good this pharmacy is and how bad boots is...
Fantastic service, fantastic staff ????
This place is a shambles. On many occasions, I arrived here to collect a prescription to find that they’d mislaid it/not done it/run out, with little to no explanation. Several times, I purposely waited for days between requesting items and collecting them in order to provide enough time for dispensation, yet the prescription would still not be ready, with the staff I spoke to acting as if I had mortally wounded them by asking for it. A couple of times, they actually texted me to say my items were ready to collect, only for me to arrive and be told that this was not actually the case and that I must be mistaken. I’ve had to show them proof of the text message THEY SENT ME to evidence that it’s their mistake, rather than my lying to somehow sneakily get my medication quicker than they feel like doing it.
Incompetence aside, the staff here also seem to quite enjoy being obtuse and unhelpful. I assume this is the way they seek enjoyment in their work as they clearly do not appear to relish the work itself. On one occasion, I observed a member of staff being abrupt and unsympathetic towards a customer, to the point of actual rudeness, with the customer being forced to disclose their medical condition in front of a shop packed with people to seemingly justify the need for the prescribed medication. This exchange did not take place with the actual pharmacist, but one of the front of shop staff. I am not convinced of this staff member’s medical credentials, nor of their intimate knowledge of this customer’s medical history. Perhaps this staff member would be suited to employment as a doctor’s receptionist or a traffic warden, should they consider a career change in the future.
More than once, I’ve arrived during normal opening hours to find the pharmacy closed with no apparent explanation. However, the final straw came when I arrived there one morning to find the door locked and a scrawled and misspelled note displayed in the window to say that they were closed due to not having a pharmacist on site. I knocked and was ignored. On knocking again, staff ‘noticed’ me and came to the door. I had run out of medication as I’d been here the day before to collect my meds but they’d closed early without notice, leaving me short. My prescription was done and ready to collect, yet they apparently couldn’t hand it to me. I was told I was unable to request the script back to redeem elsewhere as it had already been dispensed. After I let my displeasure be known, they eventually gave me a code to take elsewhere to redeem the items they could not give me. As I was leaving, an elderly gentleman in a wheelchair was being told the same as I had been initially! I told him, along with the rest of the queue that had now built up outside, that they could do the same as I. I understand the need for safety. However, I am also aware of the consequences of not taking crucial medication, which could have resulted. I also realise that my ability to advocate for myself meant I was able to push for a solution, which others might not find so easy.
I called the Lloyds customer service line in order to register my concerns, but admitted defeat after 70 minutes on hold. Tweeted them and got nowhere either.
Incidentally, one member of staff here has worn their mask incorrectly through the whole Covid pandemic. Every time I’ve been to collect (or at least try to collect) a prescription from here, this person’s nose has been peeking out, seeming to mock both me and the Covid regulations. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect that someone in this sector might know how to correctly wear PPE and also recognise the importance of doing so. If you’re coming into regular contact with some of society’s most vulnerable people, showing how little you care for their well-being smacks of selfishness and a lack of consideration for anyone but yourself.
From reading my experiences, you will have deduced that I would 10/10 not recommend this pharmacy. If you want your medication to be ready quickly and correctly you might do better to synthesise it yourself.
Terrible experience the last few weeks. I’ve been with this pharmacy for years and never had such uncaring and neglectful service. What has happened? I had to obtain an emergency prescription from my doctor and go to another pharmacy as after repeated attempts to phone and visit, they still hadn’t provided me with my heart medication. The prescription they had for three weeks! Complete disregard to my worries of running low and were completely unhelpful and misleading when asking how to get this medication another way. They gave me wrong information on how to do this.
Not only that, but they were hardly open and weren’t able to help on the phone. Even my doctors couldn’t contact them. I had gone down a few times only to find the door locked. One time I got there at 5, it was closed with a sign in the window saying closed 1-3… why was it not open at 5 then? I tried the following day and 5:30, only to find it closed again (see photo).
The staff (which are usually under staffed) do as much as they can to help. Remember that they have dozens of prescriptions from doctors and also prescriptions that people bring in and expect to have them in a few minutes. They may run out of some items but again that is not their fault, they could have had a busy run on some medications or their suppliers may not have the stock....again that is not their fault. They maybe have urgent prescriptions to make up for more urgent people, people who are chronicley ill or have a person who is coming to they end of their life and need medication to keep them comfortable. If your prescription is not urgent then please help them by giving them either a few hours to make up your prescription or even try to give them 24 hours.
Please remember that the staff are doing ALL that they can to serve you as quickly as they are able. Thanks.
