This is an excellent place for a holiday.
I stayed in Oak cottage - booked through Vrbo. It was lovely. More than met expectations. The property was perfect for a large group - the owner ensured that everything was in place for us to enjoy. Vrbo was easy to use. Property location was handy for the beaches and other delights that south Devon has to offer.
Great farm conversion that situates a host of quintessential English Cottages and courtyards.
We were situated just a little further up from Slapton village, giving us a excellent base with which to explore Devon and the surrounding sitess.
The cottage was decent sized and with all mod cons /though WiFi could be patchy in the evening.
As a downside, I'm comparing our cottage decor to others on the site and ours is shabby compared to the contemporary furniture and additions that can be seen in The others.
I can only assume that with us bringing our dogs, we were kinda relegated to the cottage received.
Everything worked as it should and the showers were lovely. Central heatimg worked fine (for drying clothes)
Final note of. Caution.....
These Devon roads are NOT for those used to nipping into town only. Often roads are single track. Coming face to face with a huge logging truck called for a half miles reversing to find a snook in the road.
This issue should be noted on the brochure as the court is literally in the middle of nowhetre
Clean and functional, everything catered for and a few lovely special touches to make us welcome
12 of us stayed for Christmas, 6 adults and 6 teenagers. It was perfect! PS4 pool table table tennis, TV, dvd player, oceans of space, spotless, comfy beds, every pot pan utensil you could wish for. Beautiful. We had a wonderful time! Oak Cottage we love you. ❤
We stayed at Oak Cottage, a very comfortable cottage with a huge kitchen diner, a great place to unwind and the grounds are spectacular (accessed via other courtyard on site). A short drive to Slapton village and the beach. Excellent base for exploring the South Devon scenery and lovely coastal towns.
Cottage is clean bright and comfortable 95% all you need except no Internet in cottage to use phones you have to walk into orchard so WiFi is none existing would we stay again Yes, so much to do but you do need a car.
We love our stays at Buckland Court,were here for christmas staying at Beeches Cottage which was an excellant place for a great family christmas,lived our stay at Beeches.this visit we are staying at Blackberry Cottage,stayed here before and what a lovely place it is to...very well presented and furnished to a high standard.
And Simon the caretaker is a great guy always on hand to answer and sort out any questions.
Book a stay at Buckland you will not be disappointed.its a fantastic place.
Lovely location. Very well appointed. Excellent gardens with superb views of the Devon countryside. Great local beaches.
