Didn't have haddock which I usually prefer.
However the cod was very nice. It was supposedly small cod but more than adequate portion. The chips were ok but not great.Think they were re done from lunchtime as went early evening. Again generous amount.Very reasonable price wise.
Decent piece of fish, the batter was lovely, not too much, nor too greasy. Nice amount of chips for a large size. 3 happy people!
Came in yesterday, staff member with blonde hair made my takeaway experience very enjoyable. Will 100% be coming back again in the future
Been using Brockworth Fryer for 22 years, it seems new owners are greedy, extortionately expensive, £5 for a large chips and £2.50 for a sausage, £32 for food for 6 people, won't be going back at those prices. Food was ok
We arrived 20min before closing time, so we didn't have many options. The staff were very pleasant and the sausages and chips were quite nice. The place itself was very clean. Hopefully next time we arrive sooner and can try their fried fish.
Small portion of chips is £2.50 and too big for one person. They should do a smaller portion at £1.50
Closes at 9pm, which means staff leave (I suppose only get paid till) 9 so if you are unfortunate enough to arrive in the previous half hour you will find all the fryers turned off, so what chips that are left have been wrapped up and kept just warm, there is no possibility of getting a piece of fish fried so to accompany the lukewarm chips your only choices are whatever leftovers, the odd fishcake, sausage or pie, there may be. Less choice than rummaging through a restaurant waste bin. More hygienic, maybe, but more expensive.
I have been using this Chippie off and on for over 40 years. Although ownership may have passed hands a few times, the Standard of Food and Service has never dropped - not many businesses could say that!!
